Comments about Atlas 2-Piece LockJaw Snowshoe Poles - Pair:
The locking system doesn't get simpler than these poles. I don't know how many trekking poles with the standard "screw" lock I've seen/had fail on a trip.
They aren't very stiff, but they are very light.
The hand grips gave me blisters on my thumbs for the first few trips, but they toughened up.
All in all, you can't beat these poles for this price.

Comments about Atlas 2-Piece LockJaw Snowshoe Poles - Pair:
Used these to climb Mt. Rainier with a 70lb load. The poles performed great. Lock mechanism is durable and will not slip.

Comments about Atlas 2-Piece LockJaw Snowshoe Poles - Pair:
Used these most of last winter snowshoeing 3-4 days a week.Started the season with a pair of poles with a twist lock that did nothing but jam .Retired them to the back of the closet and bought these. The lock works and they are durable.I would have no qualms using these for alpine skiing. They are that tough.
