My third pair of Five Fingers, and these might be my favorite. The laces make it a bit easier to get them on, and the fit is snug, but comfortable. I've been wearing them running outdoors as I ease back in to running on pavement after a long Wisconsin winter, and they've been great. My feet are a bit sore, but getting better as I get accustomed to running on concrete again.

My husband and I each purchased a pair of the Vibram Komodo Sport LS over a year ago. They have been fantastic and I firmly believe that this was one of the best investments I could have made for the health of my feet and the overall health of my body. The retail price was discouraging for us at first; however, we haven't had to contend with injuries, expensive orthotics, or time spend in physical therapy since we've had these shoes and moved away from standard heel-strike-inducing athletic shoes.
Just as Vibram and REI recommend, I would STRONGLY encourage every new FiveFingers owner to slowly work into wearing and running in these shoes - even if you already spend much of your time barefoot. It felt so good to run in them the first time, I ignored the warnings to go short distances at first and taxed my still-adapting feet and legs too far too fast. After this I was more careful and steadily increased usage until I could wear them around the house, traveling, at the gym, or on trail hikes for hours without even noticing that they're on my feet.
Through trial and error I found that each style of FiveFingers may fit differently. I loved my Komodo Sports so much that I ordered a pair of the classic Vibram foot gloves in the same size (38). I could barely get them on my feet, and was surprised to find that I took a 39 or 40 in that style. When I first started wearing the Komodo Sports, my big toes bumped the ends of the toe channel and they felt snug (which is supposed to be a good initial fit). After a few weeks of regular wear, I found that all of my other shoes fit looser than usual. In the year that I've worn these FIveFingers, my shoe size has decreased from an 8 to a 7.5, all because my arches have strengthened.
My husband and I have both noticed that our balance, overall posture, foot and ankle strength, and even bunions have improved since wearing these shoes. They are easy to clean in the washing machine and air dry fairly quickly, though my husband's shoes were left outside for a week after a wet hike and developed mold/mildew and a semi-permanent smell inside the toes, which is tough to get out unless you use a toothbrush. The reflective decals on both of our pairs have worn or been peeled off by multiple washings, though the nylon material underneath is still sound after going through so many wash cycles. I would love to use Injinji socks with these shoes for cold weather insulation, but they conform to my feet so well that it would be hard to fit them in.
I love my Komodo Sports so much that I am tempted to get another pair of FiveFingers. If you can school yourself to integrate them into your routine slowly and carefully, these would be great shoes for a natural transition.

I wear my Vibram's primarily for running outdoors but occasionally in the gym and for day to day use. I LOVE them and would recommend them to anyone. I have bad arches and my ankles roll in when I walk so my tennis shoes have orthodics in them, but these FiveFinger shoes are 20 times more helpful. They allow my foot to work how it's supposed to so it's strengthening my arch and my foot and I walk better without them too. Some people think they look silly but I wouldn't trade their comfort and positive benefit for anything. Expensive, yes, but absolutely worth it. Be sure to ease into wearing them because your legs will hurt a bit the first couple weeks until you get used to them. I would definitely buy them again!

I bought my five fingers because they look so comfortable and versitile. I am a college student on a hilly campus, I walk everywhere and ride my bike as transportation. These are awesome shoes. It is easier on your feet to walk in the grass or on dirt thatn is is to walk on cement, but it is still comfortable. They get dirty and funky quick, but if you are avid (like once a week)about cleaning them you will be fine. The sizing was weird for me, make sure that you put on both shoes and walk around inside to get a feel for how they fit, I accidentially got one size too small and they feel good at first but after wearing them for about 10 hours 3 days in a row I could feel the fabric too tight on my toe webbing. But remember if you are an REI member you get 100% satisfaction guarenteed, I would really recommend it. Hope it was helpful!

This is my second pair of FiveFingers (after my first pair of Treksports). I have to agree with many other reviewers...these shoes changed my life!
I got these shoes to alleviate some minor problems I was having running in the TrekSports...they have a small ridge on the footbed near the big toe that was rubbing when I was trail running, and creating blisters. The footbeds on the Komodosports are much smoother and nicer... after only a day wearing them I almost don't want to put my other pair back on!
However, there are a couple caveats:
1) If you have very high arches or high volume feet, you may have trouble with even the LS models. The Treksports were so stretchy I never noticed any problems, but these are still tight across the top of my feet even if they're mostly unlaced
2) The really nice smooth insole seems to mean there is less space in the toe pockets...my chubby pinky toes seem to press on the seams between toes there sometimes
3) The decals come off in the wash SO EASILY. As in, the first time I washed them (they were less than a week old) half of the honeycomb patterning on the sides wore off, and the black decal on the last two toes is already cracking. Very poor quality in that respect!

Got these a bit by accident. Not at all for running or training, but for kayaking, including getting in and out while in gravel wet conditions,short portages on slippery rocks. Finally no more gritty feet! The feel absolutely awesome, and as an extra-bonus, feel totally awesome as grip inside the kayak! I LOVE them!

I wear my KomodoSports as my daily walking around shoe, mainly on paved/flat surfaces. This is my first pair, but I look forward to trying out other models! I wash them every 7-10 days, but after two days of wearing, I notice a slightly funky foot smell; I think it's just my specific chemistry reacting to the materials of the shoe. It's not bad, but it's not pleasant either, just, well, funky. LOL
