Comments about REI Table Top French Coffee Press - 48 fl. oz.:
One of the disadvantages of spending a week or so on a sailboat is the lack of a decent system for making good coffee. This is the perfect solution! It's stable, has a rubber bottom to keep it from sliding around when the boat rocks, and keeps coffee piping hot. It's easy to haul in carry-on bags when traveling to exotic sailing adventures via air, and it's not made of glass so no worries about breaking it. Oh, and you can use it to make great tasting coffee too! I really love this thing. I'd highly recommend it.

Comments about REI Table Top French Coffee Press - 48 fl. oz.:
We bought this french press for car camping with a group of 5 serious coffee drinkers last year. Worked great! No grumpy campers having to wait their turn for a cup of coffee in the morning (our previous set-up made one cup at a time). The thermal carafe keeps coffee hot for a significant amount of time and cleaning this is a breeze! Fast forward to a couple months ago when our coffeemaker quit at home (less than a year old and cost more than this french press). We pulled this out of our camping gear and made coffee with this that morning and haven't stopped using it daily to make our coffee! It's great because it keeps the coffee hot (unlike a glass french press), so if someone gets up early, the last one awake doesn't get cold coffee!

Comments about REI Table Top French Coffee Press - 48 fl. oz.:
We like to camp in rustic places and this allows us to have "brewed" coffee. The size is great and provides 8 cups. Only complaint is that it's a thermal pot but didn't keep it warm as long as we hoped. We are basically very happy with it though.

Comments about REI Table Top French Coffee Press - 48 fl. oz.:
Okay, so this is the best coffee press I have ever used. I have used folgers grind and my own grind of coffee...all work well. Very easy to clean and use, and it makes a great cup of coffee. Though I wish I could get a bigger one lol. I use it every day at home and grudgingly taking camping. I have decided I need a second one to leave in my trailer. Another great thing is no burnt coffee taste, unlike the drip coffee makers. Some will hesitate buying this when seeing some of the plastic parts, but it is very sturdy. I have owned this press for almost 2 years and it is very heavily used.
Well enjoy if decide to buy, and happy camping ;).

Comments about REI Table Top French Coffee Press - 48 fl. oz.:
Makes great coffee, and we are large-volume coffee drinkers, so we appreciate the large capacity. However, believe the recommendation to handwash it. My wife insisted it could go into the dishwasher, and it began falling apart after just a few runs.

My husband and I each buy one thing for ourselves when we go on our annual group camping trip--this year I bought this French coffee press and it was a hit with everyone! No straggling coffee grounds, and having it also insulated helped for those campers that got up a little later in the morning. Easy to clean too!

I bought this intending to use only for camping, in the quest for the best campground java. I tested it at home day after it arrived, and I've used it every day since. Just took it out on the first camping trip, and finally reached my goal for the perfect cup. It's easy to clean, and well constructed. Couldn't be happier...

As the title states this is a "Must Have" product when car camping. Dump coffee grounds in, pour hot water in, steep for about 5-10 and then pour into a cup. Doesn't get any easier than that! Hot coffee with no grounds to chew on make this great for a car camping trip!

Comments about REI Table Top French Coffee Press - 48 fl. oz.:
I bought this for car camping with the family so we'd have plenty o' java for mom and dad in the morning. After the first camping trip, it has not been packed up with the other gear. It has stayed in the kitchen and it used every day! After three months of daily use, it's in good shape. The seal around the top has become a bit loose, but does not affect the performance at all. Overall, love this coffee press! It is my favorite REI purchase this year!
