I finally decided that I am not a fan of this ice cream maker. It professes to be easy for kids to use and that you have great ice cream in a half hour. I may be missing something, but once you add ingredients, ice, and salt, the ball becomes too heavy for young kids. The manufacturer recommends rolling it on the ground. You can't really kick it because its heavy and its not soft like a soccer ball. In general, its a nice concept, but I must not have discovered its secret. I don't enjoy using it because I end up doing all the shaking, wondering when the ice cream will ever be ready. If I had one recommendation, I would add some sort of covering that makes it soft on the outside.
