Comments about Outdoor Research VersaLiner Gloves:
It is about time someone made a waterproof glove that was comfortable yet allowed your hand motions to remain dexterous as well as having enough grip to twist objects when needed.
the lightweight rainproof outer-shell fits, un-noticed into a zippered pouch set over the back of the hand. Brilliant.
Weighs in at 3oz

Comments about Outdoor Research VersaLiner Gloves:
I had originally bought these gloves to use as a lightweight pair of backpacking gloves. I liked the idea of being able to house an outer shell in the zippered pouch and being able to convert the gloves to a pair of windproof and waterproof gloves using the outer shell. I typically backpack in colder weather with daytime highs in the 30's, 40's, 50's. These glove will not keep your hands warm. My hands were always cold wearing these gloves (inner glove only) but not to the point of being uncomfortable. My hand were slightly warmer wearing the inner glove and outer glove combinations. The outer shell is the true gem of this glove. I have since ditched the inner glove and now use a pair of regular fleece gloves which do keep my hands warms. I use the outer shell when backpacking in wet weather to keep my fleece gloves dry. Really wished someone would make a pair of fleece gloves with a zippered pocket and a windproof/waterproof outer shell or someone would manufacture a windproof/waterproof outer shell made to go over a fleece glove. I would only recommend buying these gloves for the outer shell only.

Comments about Outdoor Research VersaLiner Gloves:
I've had these for about two weeks and they're very practical. This is my first winter cycling and I didn't want to deal with huge bulky gloves and liners. It might be pushing it to call them stylish, but they are sleeker than most others and not bulky, something that makes gripping my bike's handlebars much easier than I imagine larger gloves would do. For temperatures with windchill below the high 20s, I need handwarmers -- but another reason I chose these gloves is the convenient handwarmer pouch. The liners seem very thin but are a great addition on windy days and really do cut down the cold.
I actually bought two pairs, in part because i lost the liners for mediums, but then discovered that I can fit them over my dressy leather gloves on really cold days (for me, that's when it gets in the low 20s or teens and below). The mediums are a little tight, but I like these enough to buy another pair in large, which should give a little more room for the leathers and replace the liners I lost. The men's medium alone on my hands (I'm female) are a tad large, but workable.
Service and delivery comments:
Prompt delivery and when I at first thought one liner was missing REI said they would ship another paid out right away without any hassle since my local store had none in stock and I said I really was hoping to use them ASAP. A few hours later, I discovered the other liner in the handwarmer compartment, and REI cancelled the replacement shipment. Super easy, no hassle, quick. Thanks!

One of my favorite OR products. Best used when temps are 25-45F, or you're working hard.

Comments about Outdoor Research VersaLiner Gloves:
The gloves looked they might do the job, except one had a ripped open seam. Too bad -- I need a good pair of warm breathable biking gloves with waterproofing as these purportedly have.

Comments about Outdoor Research VersaLiner Gloves:
These gloves are a perfect combination of warmth and durability. They are a bit tight around the wrist - but in a good way that keeps the cold/snow out. I wore them (with the shell) in 25 degree evening while camping and they kept me happy, I wouldn't push much below that temperature though.

Comments about Outdoor Research VersaLiner Gloves:
I wear these everyday while biking to work. There are really two gloves here: the insulating liners and the water-resistant shells. The liners keep my hands warm down to about 28 degrees, but keep in mind I am biking so the wind is probably a factor there. I've worn the shells over the liners for extra protection, but not yet by themselves. Either way, they've kept my hands dry enough. Bonus: the rubber grips on the fingers of the liners make it possible to use these with my iPhone, but I'm guessing They'll wear away too much after only 1 season. Also, the back-of-hand pockets make perfect hand warmer compartments!
