Read More Bought this tee for a summer backpacking trip with the Boy Scouts at Philmont in NM. This was 1 of 2 shirts in my pack, my favorite. It is soft like cotton, light weight and very comfortable. I washed it after every day of wear and it dried quickly. Looking forward to layering it in colder weather. -

Read More Glad you brought back the old style Sahara with heavier fabric. I have bought several of these T's over the years for my husband. Favorite part of this T is the fit and comfort. It is good for travel; as it is lightweight, dries quickly and does not wrinkle; however, have to wash frequently as it tends to retain odors and delicately as it tends to pill. If you bring this T back in more colors i.e. black, red and spice I would buy it again. Hope to find new colors as the season changes. I would love to find a similar fitting T that is still lightweight but a bit more durable with less odor retention. Any suggestions? -
Aug 22, 2013Cool and dryI spent 14 days canoeing and bushwhacking. I used only 4 of my Sahara T-shirts. They wicked well and dried quick after a rinse in the lake.

The biggest turn off for me is that this is the worst odor retaining shirt I have ever purchased. I can often go several days in a cotton t-shirt assuming casual use; no serious sweating. Same thing with several Cool Max t-shirts. After several days there is no odor. But these REI Sahara t-shirts. Within hours of putting them on I am starting to smell myself. This is immediately after a shower now! I would never consider wearing this Sahara shirt more than one day at a time. I will not be buying another. -

Read More I purchase Sahara line of clothing to stay cool in hot summer days. Even though the fabric feels good on the skin, the color selection is very poor. The colors are mostly very dark which absorbs sunlight and heat, or just plain ugly. Would prefer more lighter and neutral colors (e.g. light gray, light sage, grayish blue).

Read More I had 3 shirts that had lasted for years, when I trashed one (oil paint), I decided to start looking for replacements. I think that they are as good as, if not better than, the ones I had given a workout on from the tropics to desert to bitter cold. Easy to pack, great for stuffing in your pack for a quick change to instant comfort.
