Comments about REI Mistral Pants -Women's:
Couldn't get by with only one pair anymore! I can go from home office, to kid's school, to the mall during all seasons-just wear different base layer (or none). They look great and rise to natural waist line. LOVE these. I'm an average weight, shapely woman who's had a child--and these don't make me feel like a frumpy old Mom! They make me feel good-like my former, pre-child self!

Comments about REI Mistral Pants -Women's:
I have tried on so many pants from so many other companies and they are always cut too low, or too weird or bulky in the crotch. These ones are really well-fitted, just below the waist, enough room for your behind so they don't ride down when you sit. Perfect! I can't wait to wear them to my next hike.

Comments about REI Mistral Pants -Women's:
I love this pants so much that I do not want REI discontinue this product. I created my public profile in order to praise this pants here. I love this more than any other brand travel friendly pants I have or I tried. They are stylish, and yet functional. Those side zipped pockets are wonderful, fit camera, passport, IPhone, and all kinds of other things without fearing dropped them out accidentally. I wish all of my travel pants have those pockets. I will buy those pants just because of that, not to mention about other wonderful features this pants have. I do not need to wash them on a 2 weeks trip, if I have another light weight pants to change once or twice. After I bought them, I have never left them home on my trip, especially comfortable on those long international flights or layovers. I wish REI can also make a lighter version for hot summer use. They are a bit heavy for summer. I have bought another pair to save for the future, even though my first pair is still in a very good condition.

Comments about REI Mistral Pants -Women's:
I use these pants mainly for hiking. They are very comfortable, repel water and are not too hot. My only complaint is that when I hike I need to tighten the waist of my pants. These pants fit me at the beginning of hikes and are falling off of me at the end. They need an adjustable waist.

These are my first pair of softshell pants. I should have bought some sooner. They are much warmer hiking in show and severe wind than my regular hiking pants. They keep me warm and also breathe well.

Comments about REI Mistral Pants -Women's:
These pants are beautifully constructed inside and out, I bought them for running, hiking, walking and snowshoe outings in eastern Mass., where it is generally not terribly cold. I've been using biking pants for running and the wind blows right through the backside when I'm headed downwind. The Mistral pants will be a huge improvement and with the stretchy fabric there is room for a light or medium weight base layer. Versatile, comfortable and sporty. I'm 5'9" and 125 pounds and the 4 fits perfectly, although a little on the short side. My husband thinks they look fine but I wouldn't mind another inch in length.

I bought these in my nearby REI store, but felt I had to go online to give a big endorsement on these pants. I'm 5'3", weigh 106lbs. and have a small waist and curvy hips. Any of you of similar dimensions know how hard it is to find pants that are flattering on us, especially ones that are warm & rugged, not to mention wind & water-repellant! I got them in Women's size 2 regular. They make me look as if I have a perfect, cute silhouette--'nuff said? You gotta try them!

Comments about REI Mistral Pants -Women's:
My husband and I love these pants for travelling: they are always the first pair in the bag and the ones we wear the most on our trips, whether we are motorcycling, hiking or urban travelling. The fit is flattering and they pack and wash great--a definite plus when you're on the road. We just returned from 3 weeks riding a motorcycle in New Zealand and these pants were perfect: comfy for both riding and mid-day hikes alike. They resist stains pretty well, too, so you can wear them a week or more without needing to wash them. The only complaint I have is that the fit is a bit boxy in the waist for us curvy girls with a defined waist: because they stretch a bit after wearing, I sometimes need a belt to hold them up (something I don't want to wear on vacation!). If the waist could be taken in just a tad, these would be the absolute perfect pants.

Love these! Consider ordering a size down unless planning to wear w a heavy base layer. I usually wear a 4 or size 27 jeans but the twos fit perfectly even over athletic tights. The great thing is that the stretch in the fabric means they still look sleek w/o the tights underneath.
NOTE to REI, please make these in size 2 Tall so I can get some for my daughter!
