The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Yepp Maxi Rear Bicycle Child Carrier:
Mind you - the box clearly states this seat is meant for children ages 3-6. However, when we were at REI, the "bike specialist" suggested this seat (it was out of the box) for our 6 month old infant. We spoke in great detail about our needs and decided on the purchase. Our little guy can hold his head up well, and is the size of a 9 month old baby...BIG BOY! The seat would have actually worked ok but the shoulder straps - even when tightened to the smallest length - were too big for our infant. We then realized that the seat was meant for older kids - the "bike specialist" sold us a seat we wouldn't be able to use for at least another year. We weren't comfortable rigging it to work and were concerned that it wouldnt be safe for an infant....even though the REI employee sold us this seat. If you are looking for a seat for an infant, get the Mini, or a trailer. We're returning this and I bought the Mini on [@].Frustrating REI service - but we may consider buying this seat in the future.

Comments about Yepp Maxi Rear Bicycle Child Carrier:
Please note there are actually TWO varieties of this seat- the one REI sells is the Yepp Maxi Standard, which attaches to your bike's seat tube. Note this seat is NOT COMPATIBLE with the Yepp Easyfit adapter! (for example, a Surly Big Dummy with appropriate adapter) If you have a bike with an Easyfit Adapter, you'll need the Yepp Maxi Easyfit which REI doesn't sell.
The seat itself is the same between both products, and is very high quality. The seat itself is a soft rubbery material reinforced with steel tubes. No worries about durability. Both types of mounting hardware are also very solidly constructed.
After exchanging for the right seat and taking our child for a ride, I can also say that functionally it works great.

Comments about Yepp Maxi Rear Bicycle Child Carrier:
I'm not sure what the other reviewer is talking about - this seat is easy to install, and remove from the bike. Perhaps they didn't understand the quick release feature and were remounting the whole thing each time?
Anyway, once you know how, it's easy to remove the seat from the coupling that's permanently attached to the bike's frame. When attached, the seat is very secure.
I have used both the Yepp mini (front mounted) and this seat. Both are wonderful, high quality and lovely to look at (compared to other seats). I ride with my son several times a week, and I get stopped almost every time with people asking me where I got the seat. It's not a big, grey monstrosity on the back of the bike - it's well made/engineered, easy to install and will last through several children.
My only gripe is that I wish it came with a chest strap to secure the shoulder straps, but that can be remedied by a trip to the craft store for some webbing and an extra buckle.

Comments about Yepp Maxi Rear Bicycle Child Carrier:
This product is truly 2nd to none in the market. The design, fit and built of this seat feels and looks like something they actually thought about unlike the cheap one piece plastic ones you can get for $50-60
What I love about this seat:
1. Ability to attach and detach it when you want to ride solo ( this is not offered by any other company )
2. A true German design and dutch built product that you can appriciate its desing and material
3. Buil-in shock absorbance into the seat with its material. Very giving on bumps for your baby
4. The clasps to hold the child's feet into place
5. You baby is sitting high up in the back and still can see/enjoy the ride
Overall I would highly recommend this seat as I tested 3 others before setteling with this produce. I must say I'm very picky and look for the best even if it means an extra $$ which in this case is very well worth it.
Get it if you want the Rolex / Bentley of seats...

Comments about Yepp Maxi Rear Bicycle Child Carrier:
Works great as a carrier for kids, but if you want to take it off and on your bike for different uses, look elsewhere. It is difficult to access the parts for installation/removal, and you need to put so much stress on the parts at weird angles that the parts quickly start to wear out.
I would love to return this, but my kid likes it too much.
