    Bought this with my dividend - I've tried all the other brands of chargers that REI sells, including the much larger Brunton fold-able, without any luck.

    Used this to charge my HTC EVO today (1750 maH battery) in the spring New Mexico sun. Fully charged from about 50% in one hour. I had the phone off while it was charging - but did try with the phone on, and it still instantaneously came up as charging.

    The speaker that's included with the kit isn't very high end, but it is much louder than my default speaker-phone mode.

    Haven't tried the 12-volt cig lighter that comes with this.

      The Nomad 7 plus Rock Out speaker is a good combo, the Guide10 battery pack (sold separately) will round out a very useful and fun kit. Even in a some what cloudy prestorm afternoon the Nomad 7 was pushing a charge to the Rockout speaker. In full sun I expect way better results. First test with speaker on top of my bike handle bar bag was awesome! If you wear headphones while biking this speaker and an iPhone or iPod is a great way to have good sounding tunes while still being able to communicate with others. (and be legal in states where wearing head phones is illegal). The volume produced is surprisingly nice. The speaker can be daisy chained to another Rockout or other speakers with std male head phone jacks. From a Survival/Camping kit use adding the guide 10 battery pack ensures power on demand for a myriad of small Electronic devices

      REI delivered straight away with emails as each step of the process. Arrived in great condition on time for free because it met the threshold for free shipping, a big plus!
