The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.
Rated5out of5bySpinningllamagalfromPerfect fit and excellent gear performanceThis boot was the perfect fit for me. I have Morton's Neuromas in the feet and need a wide toe box. We trained for ten months, preparing to walk a portion of the Camino de Santiago. I bought a second pair two months before leaving for Spain. We walked more than 150 miles in ten days and I didn't have one blister. The terrain is everything you can image, up and down mountains all day. We walked through creeks and had dry feet. My husband also wears this boot and is on his fourth pair. He has tried many boots through the years and is always on his feet. We love the Keen Gypsum WP Mid.

Rated4out of5byjudykfromLittle disappointed in theseI am an avid hiker. My other Keens ( Targhee)held up fantastic and I would still be using them, but after putting over 1200 miles on them, the insides were wearing thin and becoming uncomfortable on very long hikes. I love everything about the Gypsum except the traction. I've been out in them on 3 hikes so far and have found them to be a bit slippery on rocks. I am hoping with use, this problem may rectify itself.

Rated4out of5byQueenHofromGood buyGot this pair while they were on sale. Since I own a pair of Keen sandal and love it, I trust the brand. After two hikes, I am really loving the boots too. I tried on different brand and style boots, but I like the wider fit for my feet. It provides good traction and ankle support for tough terrain. I have not tried it during really wet & cold condition, but so far so good. It's keeping my feet dry, warm (but not too hot), and good support. I recommend it.

Rated5out of5byIzzyfromSTURDYI intentionally bought these for my long walking commutes to both jobs and for the Fall, Winter, Spring seasons when I can't wear my hiking shoes.
The great things about the boots are the waterproof nature, the attached tongue (nothing is going to get inside your boot), sturdy construction, FAST lacing (just loop it around the metal hook and tie), and they keep my feet warm.
What I'm working around now is the break-in time: the stiffness in the ankle area and sole are probably because these are meant for serious mountain climbing and hiking. I've been walking around the house (instead of slippers) to get them broken in enough so that can start using them when the weather is bad in a few weeks.
The shipping was as expected and I was in no hurry (I ordered early). The shipping material was minimal and I like that the box is 100% recycled (it's now my miniature pinscher's toy box for all her little stuffed toys). There was no damage to the boots.
I bought these after speaking with customer service on the sizing. They are ½ smaller than what I normally wear, so instead of ordering a size 7, I went up to 7.5 and with my midweight toe socks, these fit perfectly.
My pair are the Gargoyle/Tawny Olive (ON SALE), but I really don't know what those shades are. For anyone like me who doesn't know Gargoyle or Tawny Olive, the boot colors are Gray and Light Blue. The colors won't look bad at all once they get grime on them from hiking. Great boot, I'm anxious to tromp about outside in slush and grime to really test them.
PS: I have plantar fasciitis in both feet and my healing now is at about 80% so my low score on the arches is only because of my foot condition. For anyone without any foot issues, the arches are fine.

Rated5out of5byRebecca HibitfromKeen Gypsum Mid Hiking Boots (women's)I have bunions and need a wide toe box in my hiking shoes. Even with a wide toe box I sometimes have to have the area around one bunion stretched (which I did on one foot with these boots). This strategy does not always work.
I bought these boots to hike in Switzerland so was very nervous about taking a new boot overseas that would cause me any pain. If the boots is not wide enough there is always the problem of creasing when the boot is bending to accommodate my steps. I am happy to report I never had a single issue with this boot. Even with orthotics inserted. The boot was very sturdy, light weight and comfortable.

Rated4out of5byBonnieJanefromGreat hiking boots so farI've only used these boots on a few short hikes around town so far. In my everyday life I wear shoes that are bad for my feet - heels, moccasins, and various other shoes with next to no support. I think because of my poor life choices the beginning of each hike in these awesome and VERY supportive hiking boots can be a bit awkward. Once I get going on the hike though there's never been any issues. I was very surprised with how comfortable they were walking down a steep hill. No issues with my toes and my feet felt great the whole time.

Rated4out of5byBJfromGood shoe for the priceI usually wear a wide width, but with Keen I don't need to. I did find the ankle area needed stretching a bit so I put 7lb kettleballs inside for a week. These are good everyday type shoes -- for yardwork or hike.
