    The REI Member Dividend

    These whistles are extremely popular. I wanted one because they are a pealess design so its not affected by water or freezing up. I also like the fact they are small and flat so they go on your backpack strap or pfd without getting in your way or be noticeably present.

    The only downsides is that that the attachment for the keyring breaks easily and these are marketed as extremly loud. Even though they are loud and will get the job done. They are not "extremely loud". Matter of fact most of my other whistles are louder.
