Comments about ALPS Mountaineering Mystique 1.0 Tent - Special Buy:
I needed a tent that was within budget, lightweight, & small enough to fit in my back pack for hiking the Appalachian Trail. This tent is it! I am 5'10" & had plenty of room. A pad, blanket, & my backpack all fit inside with me. The only problem is my own OCD of needing my feet to face the door, so my head was in a tiny space! Set up and tear down were about 5 min each. The instructions are waterproof but not really needed it's so easy. In the rain I stayed dry without a footprint.

Comments about ALPS Mountaineering Mystique 1.0 Tent - Special Buy:
I haven't used this on the trail yet. The dimensions listed for the footprint of this tent are a bit misleading. Both the door end of the tent and the foot end slope in considerably. I am 6'2" and with my feet making contact with the foot of the tent, my head just touches the door end. In other words, it's not terribly long. Also, It's short enough that I cannot sit up straight in the tent. However, for the relatively low price and relatively light weight, it might work out OK, for a solo trip. It would be very claustrophic to get caught in for an extended period of time due to inclement weather. The vestibule is big enough for a pair of boots but little else. Cooking under the vestibule would not be remotely feasible. It seems to set up easily.

Comments about ALPS Mountaineering Mystique 1.0 Tent - Special Buy:
I purchased this tent 2 years ago and have used it several times on pack trips in the high Rockies. It appears to be resistant to rain and wind as there is no evidence of deterioration. It took a few trips for me to become accustomed to the smaller size of this tent even though it is roomy compared to other brands of single person tents. Well worth the money!

Comments about ALPS Mountaineering Mystique 1.0 Tent - Special Buy:
I picked up this tent to use for bicycle touring or kayak camping. First time I took it out it rained all day and we had wind gust up to 30mph. The tent stayed very dry and in place. I am very happy with this purchase. I'm 5'4" so there was plenty of room for me and some gear inside the tent.

I used this tent two nights while on a climbing trip. It rained both nights. I was kept dry even thought I didn't have a footprint.
