    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

So far they had stayed in my closet for months wihtout use because of it. I have double checked that they are the right size and i also purchased the sock linners hoping it will fix the problem-but no they still flip around on his paws. Its unfortunate sice they are a bit pricey- also-even though the dog is wearing shoes-they still get foxtails and small rock within them, so you have to check your dogs shoes just like you would your own to avoid injury to their paws.

Rated4out of5byfromGreat for Active Dogs!I bought these boots for my smooth coat Border Collie for the cold winter months here in MN. There were nights she could barely go out to do her business due to her feet being too cold. So I figured I better just bite the bullet and get her some durable boots that will last. I really like these because they are simple but still durable for hiking and running but still keeps her feet protected from chemicals used on the roads, ice, etc... The only thing that I see as an issue is that when used in deep snow is that snow then gets into the band above the actual shoe and then keeps ice/snow around her lower leg therefore I only use them on packed snow. But for simple walks, trail running(Summer and/or Winter) I have had great luck!

Rated2out of5byfromGrip Trex Dog Boots in the SnowWe tried the Ruffwear grip treks in the snow on our short haired American Staffordshire Terrier, for a short distance they seemed to work well. He wasn't slipping on the ice they had good grips, however they kept loosening up and we had to keep stopping to tighten and readjust them on his feet. We took him out snowshoeing and unfortunately they rubbed him raw in a few places on his feet and we ended up having to take them off. We are thinking this may be due to his short hair, we aren't giving up yet we plan on trying them again with doggy socks to see if they will stay on better and rub less. I would not recommend them for a short haired breed, but they work great on our long haired border collie.

Rated1out of5byfromnot worth itComments about dewclaws should not be ignored - these must have been designed to inflict pain on dewclaws. If you dog has them, best to avoid unless the booties stop way below the claw My dog wore these for about 10 hours on day 2 of a tough backpacking trip. They surely avoided some pad damage from tough scree fields, but beyond the dewclaw damage they also keep the pad soaking wet and raw. We decided to remove the booties from both dogs after the worst was over, but had to wait an hour for their pads to dry before proceeding on raw pads. Worst of all, 10 hours of use and the stitching failed, there is a one inch hole in 2 of the booties. Total junk, avoid. My dog is pretty rugged, spends plenty of time on trails and has very tough feet, the booty purchase was for some unusually tough terrain. Look for something cheaper that just provides a little extra protection, rather than a gimmicky vibram sole which is extremely uncomfortable when it turns at any angle at all (which is inevitable). I saw the cheap REI brand booties outperform these. Not worth even the sales price.

Rated4out of5byfromSomone finally got it right!I have been seeking the ultimate solution to the torn, bleeding pads that my dog gets on routine hikes. I was skeptical about the design of these as some other brands that I had tried did not stay on well. I did a few test runs, first putting just the front ones on and letting my dog get used to them and then just the back two. While he was resistant at first, he got used to them and took off like the Tazmanian devil! It's important to make sure they are on very tight almost to the point that it seems uncomfortable or they will come off. After wearing them for a bit, they mold to the dog's feet and I had no concerns that they would come off. My only concern is that the fabric shoe will wear out before the sole as they already showed some wear and tear after one 8 mile hike. Luckily they are machine washable but I fear this will also shorten their life span. I would recommend these as my dog is so thrilled to be able to hike for hours without battering his paws. I'll be keeping my eye out for future versions of this shoe in hopes that it only improves.

Rated2out of5byfromTough but slip off easilyThese boots are great at protecting our German Shepherds feet from the hot and rocky terrain around Phoenix. Unfortunately we constantly have to watch his feet because they like to slip off. Normally we can find them with a little back tracking but we finally lost one for good the other day.

Rated1out of5byfromirritates du-clawsthe boots irritated my dogs du-claws. after hiking just 3 miles, my dogs du-claws were red and raw. the boots sit right below the du-claw. if your dog has his du-claws, you may want to reconsider getting a high-top boot rather than these low boots.
