Comments about REI Traverse Shocklight Women's Trekking Poles - Pair:
These seem like great poles-inexpensive, lightweight, comfortable grips, but they are very short and would only be adequate for someone 5'6" or under on a descent. I am 5'9" and they were much too short fully extended.

Comments about REI Traverse Shocklight Women's Trekking Poles - Pair:
Just got back from hiking the Panorama Trail in Yosemite. I'm a flat lander and after a few miles my knees reminded me in no uncertain terms that, yes, I'm over 50. By the end of the hike my legs had turned to jello and I was relying heavily on my poles for balance. Thank you for creating a well made product for those of us who still long to be outdoors even tho the body complains!
Service and delivery comments:
Bought these at the Stockton store. Wish I had paid attention to the name tag of the woman who assisted me (she had hiked Half Dome the day before I was there). She was very helpful ... and very sweet to my granddaughter who insisted in interupting our conversation often. Stockton staff ROCKS!!!

Comments about REI Traverse Shocklight Women's Trekking Poles - Pair:
Bought these because I have back and knee problems and I'd been told they would not only help with that, but that they also are quite handy on slippery slopes and in creek crossings. I haven't been disappointed yet! I've used them in everything from sun to snow and they've held up. I have a hard time telling if they're locked in position or not when I open them, but they haven't collapsed on me yet so I think they're great!

Comments about REI Traverse Shocklight Women's Trekking Poles - Pair:
I went on many hikes in Colorado during the month of August, including two 14ers, which I had not planned on doing. These trekking poles gave me the confidence I needed to go over streams, wet rocks, rocky terrain, and helped ease the impact on my knees coming down the mountains. Great!
