These cycling sandals are comfortable and cool on hot days. Unfortunately, the lacing system does not remain tight while riding. Other than that, I like them!

Comments about Keen Commuter II Bike Sandals - Women's:

These are great bike shoes that you can also walk and stand in comfortably. I use them as standby water shoes, shower shoes when camping, etc.... If you can't have both a bike shoe and flips/casual/shower shoes, these are perfect in-betweener's. They are excellent for biking around town, fire trails and mellow cross-country riding. You can wear these solid-soled bike shoes with (or without) cleats and still walk around with a normal gait (no funky cleat-walk!)

I don't have narrow feet, but the look and fit is more narrow than standard Keens which I like. I have a high instep and feel a good amount of arch support. The insoles (which remove for cleat installation/removal) do slip around a bit but only when used as a water shoe but cinched down tightly do not prove to be a problem.

I had the original Keen Commuter (not the Commuter II's) and they did not tighten enough--congratulations Keen-you made it work for this newer model / II - the velcro strap added at the top makes a huge difference.

I don't recommend them as your PRIMARY shoe unless you don't plan on using them with cleats because the soles do wear enough so that if you do have cleats installed, they start clicking and slipping under you.

This is my second pair and I'd buy these again.

Comments about Keen Commuter II Bike Sandals - Women's:

This is my first pair of bike shoes but not my first pair of Keen Hiking Sandals. I bought these for I have issues with my toes and the regular sandals made my feet feel wonderful even after hiking for hours. These shoes feel great, look great and are very easy to use. I just clip them in to my bike cleats and off I go. I just LOVE them! They run a bit small so make sure you get a 1/2 size up.

These are the most comfy shoes I currently own! And they serve the purpose - summer time bike commuting - just fine. Also, when I get off the bike, they don't make the annoying clunky sound other cleated bike shoes do. Finally, they just look good.

Love my Keens and thrilled to have a slimmer version to cycle in. The toe is still a bit large for my 28 year old toe clips - but not so much to deter my riding. Will have to update my ride.

I live in the tropics so these are perfect for hot wet weather. Fit is good. Had them fitted with cleats at my local bike shop and they are fantastic. Even with the postage they still worked out to be a lot cheaper than buying here.

I have regular Keen shoes that are a size 8 which I wear all the time. The size 8 bike version is definitely half a size smaller, so I had to go a half size up.

Comments about Keen Commuter II Bike Sandals - Women's:

I bought these to replace my old, original Keen Commuters which wore out after 3.5 years of commuting and 2 tours. The Commuter II has some nice improvements that I was very happy to see.

The biggest improvement is the velcro strap across the instep. I have a super narrow foot and always had trouble keeping my old Commuters cinched up tight enough. At times the shoe could be very loose on my foot - not good! The velcro strap solves this problem very nicely. However, it does so at the expense of easy adjustments. From time to time I like to wear socks with these shoes, and the Commuter IIs take a few minutes to adjust the width. Overall, however, I love the strap because the shoe is so much more secure on my foot. The Commuter II feels narrower overall than the original Commuters did, but that could be due to either the strap keeping the shoe tight on my foot, or the excessive wear on my old shoes; when I hold them up next to each other the outsoles are the exact same width.

The inside fabric feels nicer in this shoe and more of the toe area is closed off. They also seem to be less flexible than my old Commuter did, although it could be that the old shoes were getting more flexible as they wore out. My SPD cleats tend to crunch a little on concrete sidewalks. I don't hear them on other surfaces such as asphalt, wood floors, stone, etc., just on concrete. It's annoying enough that I pack walking shoes if I'm going to be walking a ton.

Overall I love having cycling sandals. They aren't exactly high fashion, but they're great for errand running or commuting to an environment with a casual dress code. On tour I don't bother to pack any other shoes.

Comments about Keen Commuter II Bike Sandals - Women's:

I rode these shoes with "egg-beater" pedals before I switched to others on a better bike. Found that they were indeed good for warm weather BUT had a fair amount of flex in the soles - which while good for walking is not totally wonderful for long hard distances on a road bike. So...they're fine for general messin' around but not so much for real mileage. Recommended within limits.

Comments about Keen Commuter II Bike Sandals - Women's:

I like riding in sandals. Feet don't get wrinkly from wet shoes in the rain. No shoe compares in ventilation.

I used these sandals for a two day 150 mile ride. There was no discomfort at all. The power transfer is great for everyday riding, but because of the flexibility for comfort in the straps, even loosening tension, you need to snap your kick out. Road shoes are great for racing, these are great for everything else.

The pinky toe feels goofy at first(this is where I recommend a 1/2size smaller) but doesn't cause any discomfort. The toe box is roomy.

Pedals started squeaking so I took the cleats off the shoes, the pedals off the bike cleaned, lubed, put back on. No more squeaking.

They are everything I expected. The shoes are one with my feet, and I am one with my bike.
