The Big Agnes Ethel 0°F down bag for women is a rectangular, roomy sleeping bag that still packs small and light for cold weather endeavors.

Designed for women, with a narrow cut at the shoulders, more width at the hips and extra insulation in the footbox and torso where it's needed most
Lightweight, 0°F rectangular design features 650-fill-power goose down insulation—perfect for cool, dry climates
Vertical baffle Flow Construction features internal Flow Gates—vertical chambers with internal mesh gates that keep insulation from shifting up and down
Underside insulation has been eliminated and replaced with a sleeve for a Big Agnes 20 in.-wide rectangular pad, sold separately
Continuous draft wedge insulates the connection between the bag and pad to prevent cold air from entering
Built-in pillow sleeve lets you stuff a jacket or a backcountry pillow inside and keeps it in place all night long
Contoured, down-filled collar at the top of the bag seals around the neck to prevent body heat from escaping and cold air from entering
Ripstop nylon shell with a Durable Water Repellent finish sheds water; soft, breathable nylon lining
2-way, full-length, locking zipper with big, easy-to-grab zipper pull
Large draft tube located behind the zipper prevents warm air from escaping and cold air from entering

After experimenting with a variety of cold weather sleeping systems I decided to give the Big Agnes bags a try.
I am a notorious roaming sleeper who easily gets tangled in mummy bags and I tend to favor sleeping on my side.
The design of the bag requires that you slide your pad into a sleever in the bottom. (I have an Exped downmat 9 that fit like a glove) Sliding into my bag was a dream. I stayed warm and comfy and loved not falling off my mat all night!
Plenty of room for this sleeper. I love Ethel.

I have the grape/lime bag and its incredible. I'm a gal who loves freedom of movement and phobia of having control taken away...this bag is spacious and warrrrrrm, but only if you tuck your head inside the bag. The hood adjustments are brilliant and so is the option to unzip near the feet and walk around in your bag.

However, I will say that the zipper snags all the time. Now if you relax and take your time, no big whoop. But if you panic easily or have serious anxiety, steer clear.

I bought this bag a year ago and finally put it to use during a recent backpacking trip to Shenandoah, VA. I went for the 0-degree rated down bag because I am ALWAYS cold. While the daytime temperatures were reaching to the low 60's, it went down to close to 30 at night. I slept in Big Agnes Ethel with a single layer of thermals on and woke up toasty warm each morning. So cozy that I didn't want to get out of the bag and climb out into the cold, wet morning. I would highly recommend this bag.

I was so excited to get this sleeping bag. I always sleep cold when I'm camping and thought this was the solution for sure. I took this on a backpacking trip up in our local mountains where night time temps were probably around 35-40 degrees, so not too cold... nowhere near the 0 deg. temp rating of this bag. While I did like that my sleeping pad (I used the matching Big Agnes pad) didn't move around while I slept, it also prevented me from closing my bag in around me, thus making the bag feel drafty and cold. Maybe this would be better if you were a little bigger and filled out the bag more. The pad seemed to let a lot of cold air up from the bottom as well. So, the bag was comfortable, but not warm. One of the worst nights out backpacking I can remember. Too bad, I really had high hopes for this.
