Comments about Garmin Forerunner 410 GPS Fitness Monitor:
Overall this is a great watch! Many users will want to use the built in heart rate monitor functions and if you are one of them spend the few extra dollars and get the model that comes with it. However if that model isn't available for some reason or you buy the wrong one by accident this model will work with the HRM just fine. However it doesn't seem to be compatible with a foot pod. (if is compatible with a foot pod I would really like to know!) While not a deal breaker in itself for me, it would be nice to have that as a backup when confined to the treadmill for the day or momentarily lose reception outside which, admittedly, hasn't happened to me yet.
The best part of this watch is the speed in which it will pick up the satellites. It is FAST! Literally seconds! By the time I have gone to the training mode it is already tracking satellites. It is routinely accurate under the 3 meters it advertises. Usually between 7-9 feet. On a couple rare occasions I have seen that it has been as far off as 17 feet.
The user controls are fairly easy to use although the method used to scroll can be problematic sometimes. (you have to circle the bezel with your finger similar to how you would scroll through menus on the old click wheel iPods.) Once you get the hang of it its not too bad though. Overall it is very easy to navigate through all the menus and functions. Most anyone should be able to figure out all the controls which a few minutes of exploration. I still have yet to open up the user manual on this thing.
Syncing your workout data is very easy using the ANT+ stick that comes with the watch though I find the online software leaving a lot to be desired. I feel the set up Garmin uses is a great start and definitely headed in the right direction but would greatly benefit from more improvements. I also feel that you should be able to upload your data onto your computer and not be forced to use the website if you chose. For you Mac users out there this watch will sync very easily. I have not had any issues on my Mac thus far.
The watch seems to be well built and solid. However I would NEVER subject it to the same tortures I would put my Suunto Core through. I just don't feel the 410 is THAT tough. The battery is not user replaceable as it uses a built in lithium ion battery. If you intend to use this for backpacking that would be a deal breaker in my mind. The 410 just isn't made for that. But in a pinch the 410 will give you your location in lat/long and create a "bread crumb trail" (provided you tell it to) so you can find your back if you get lost while trail running. This unit has an IPX7 (I believe) water proof rating. This will cover rain, snow, and sweat with no problem and the controls are still easy to use. However, this watch is not designed to be used for swimming and I would never even wear it in the shower.
Overall this is a great watch and would recommend it all day.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner 410 GPS Fitness Monitor:
This watch is amazing. Far exceeded my expectations. Looks good and super comfy. Picks up signals super quick and stays locked in. Tons of great features and options. Customizable Data screens are great as is the Goals screen. Touch Bezel works superbly. Well done with this one Garmin.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner 410 GPS Fitness Monitor:
The GPS works great and is very accurate from what I can tell. The biggest flaw is the navigation. Instead of using buttons you must slide your finger around the face of the watch which does NOT work well, at least on mine. It takes a fair amount of fumbling just to scroll around to get to the menu to shut it down because if you leave it on for a day or two, the battery will go dead. Also, it would be nice if it had a replaceable battery.
