The Deuter Futura 32 pack is perfectly sized and equipped for long day trips and quick weekend getaways. This technical pack takes you from forested trails to paved sidewalks in lightweight comfort.

Contoured, padded shoulder straps are lined with breezy air-mesh for breathability; they also feature "load lifter" stabilizing straps for ideal positioning of the pack
Patented Aircomfort suspension features a tight, hammocklike panel of mesh that allows warm air to escape and fresh air to circulate between pack body and wearer
Suspension consists of spring-steel frame that is flexible and light, and tensioned to support the suspended mesh for ventilation
Soft, bi-laminate hip pads and hipbelt wrap your body, stabilizing and controlling lateral pack movement on the go
Main compartment has plenty of room for food, clothing and the 10 essentials; 2 side mesh pockets and 2 side bellows pockets are roomy enough for water bottles and snacks

I have the previous version of this pack which is pretty much the same. I used it recently for day hikes in Zion and have to say it was great. The pack was very comfortable while carrying 7kg of load. The meshed back provided great ventilation and kept my back dry (I sweat a LOT). The bag has a lot of compartments to keep the small stuffs handy. The thing that I can complain about is the size, it doesn't feel like a 32L pack, perhaps the arch takes away some space, but still.

I bought this bag to take with me on my move to SE Asia. I knew I would be taking a lot of weekend trips and needed a good carry-on size pack. This bag is great for that purpose. I guess you could say I am a flash packer as I pack light and for short jaunts (3-10 days usually, sometimes longer). I even manage to squeeze my laptop in sometimes (13 in. macbook pro in a neoprene sleeve). I have found that if you pack it right you can get plenty of clothes in it. I find that the separate bottom pouch is great for packing an extra pair of shoes. The pack is also quite comfortable. I particularly like the design and how the pack literally floats off of your back allowing your back to remain cool especially where I am at. I also wear it riding scooters for long distances from time to time with minimal discomfort. I highly recommend this pack.

I use this pack for day hikes. It fits great and has great air circulation across your back. Only complaint, wish you could stow trekking poles without removing the pack.
