Comments about Sherpani Zoe Wallet - Women's:
This is my first review for REI because I really love this wallet and I want everyone to know! It is very nearly the perfect wallet for me.
I have had this wallet (in black) for about 3 years. It is soooo practical and convenient!
This is the only wallet that I use. I am not one of those women who switches out their wallet to match the purse that matches their outfit / shoes.
I select practical accessories over stylish ones, and this wallet is casual and very practical (and unfortunately, not stylish). I would like to see Sherpani develop a snazzier looking wallet (without sacrificing durability) in this same basic design that was less sporty/casual looking that looked a little more professional. Maybe with a satiny type material, or something that could be dressed up or down. That would be pretty near my perfect wallet!
I am here buying a second one, just in case they ever stop making this design. But mine is still in great shape - the white flower logo is a little dingy (my ideal design would have been to keep the logo all black so it was understated and stayed cleaner looking), but that's the only problem as far as how it has held up over the years as my full-time wallet.
This wallet is great for traveling. If you don't put too much in the wallet, you can even cram your passport inside. (I have at times clipped my passport to the outside of the wallet because it was overfull, and that worked well although I know it wasn't intended to be used that way.)
I don't really use the key clip for my keys - I use a small carabiner clip attached to the strap for my keys, instead of on the key fob inside, so they are easily accessible, and I only rarely ever detach my keys, so I never lose my keys, or forget my wallet when I go somewhere.
My absolute favorite thing about this wallet is that I LOVE LOVE LOVE the strap, makes it very convenient to travel, shop, bike - do almost ANYTHING - with the wallet handy and without having to carry a bulkier bag. I have preferred wallets with straps for over 10 years, and this is by far the best designed - and by far the most durable - wallet-with-a-strap that I've ever used, and it's a good size.
It also fits easily inside just about any purse. Best of both worlds. The strap is the perfect length for crossing over your shoulder, even for me as a very tall and overweight person, there is still ample room and it's very comfortable.
When walking in crowds where pocket picking / wallet theft would be likely, this works well b/c you can wear it under your shirt to conceal it, or position it in front of you with your hand on it for safekeeping. I have never felt like it could be easily stolen from me, I always feel secure.
I really like that the cash pouch is the width of money, other wallets with straps that I have seen require folding dollars, and I prefer to keep my money flat when I'm reaching for it.
What I don't love about it:
I mentioned above, I wish the flower logo was all black and not white, because after years of use the petals are dingy - if the flower was all black it would have aged better.
I don't think that the zippered change purse is the best design for holding change - you have to hold the wallet carefully to avoid spilling change out of the change purse - which is not too difficult but it just feels awkward accessing it, trying to find the exact change you need, without risking spilling stuff out of the rest of it. I just don't use it for change. Instead, I put other stuff in the zippered pocket, that isn't so easy to spill - like a stamp booklet, or a USB thumb drive, for instance. I have kept a smaller change purse inside the pouch that is under the id holder or under the zippered pocket, and then connected it to the key clip, and that worked well as a an alternative to the change purse, but made it a bit more bulky.
...And that's my only other complaint about this wallet would be that I wish it had more depth - meaning, I cram it a little too full sometimes and I just wish it would expand a bit more, like half an inch more room for expansion would be ideal. Expansion enough so that there is room for comfortably holding a passport plus a full wallet plus the cellphone and key. I can fit a smaller cell phone in there, but it's very hard to zip up at that point because I probably keep too many credit cards and papers in my wallet. It's a tight fit with a cell phone too. I have a bulky car key, so there is no way both the car key plus the cell phone would comfortably fit in the wallet zipped up.
So, I wish someone from Sherpani would read this review, I would tell them thank you for this excellent wallet! I will use and replace this wallet FOREVER so please don't ever discontinue it! If you are making a new version, please consider some of my suggestions above.

You know how when you leave the house, you're supposed to remember "wallet, phone, keys"? Well this wallet does exactly that. You stick you phone and keys into the wallet, and just walk out the door. It's great for when I'm too lazy to want to carry more than a wallet with my phone and keys strapped to it. I always wanted something like this.
The phone is just held in with a strap, and an iPhone fits perfectly in there, but a regular clamshell phone would probably be a really awkward fit. The key fob is in the fold of the wallet and can't hold much more than either your door key or your car key. Works for me, since if I'm driving somewhere I just tuck this wallet into a real purse. I carry this around daily with me in my work computer bag, and it is super-handy for me to walk somewhere at work to lunch, so I'm not carrying my wallet in my hand the whole time. I love this thing.
I got this in the brown color, which is discontinued, but looks like the back of the blue one.
