Absolutely Love these shorts. Comfortable, material stretches to give some relief after a big lunch :) air vents in groin area. Built in belt is nice. Cargo pocket does have access with 2 zippers, one to use when standing up & the other to use when sitting down. I've used shorts on long bike rides, long hikes & playing golf. My go to shorts right now. Will order the other colors to switch things up. Quality product

I picked these up off the rack at a garage sale. I liked the look of the fabric and the waist adjuster. I was walking around and a guy told me he really liked the shorts. Surprise, I am not a guy. I decided to try them on anyway. I love these shorts! I love the stretchy fabric, deep pockets, long length and most of all.....the adjustable waist. I am tall and have a small waist and small hips. I have the worst time with women's clothing. The waists are huge, hips are huge, cut is too low and length too short. The waist on these size smalls is a bit too big, but being able to adjust it makes them perfect. They are a bit too big in the leg at the knee to my liking but oh well, more room when I am moving around hiking, biking or camping. They are keepers. Then I went over to women's to see if there was anything comparable and there isn't.

I really wanted to like these shorts but am having a difficult time doing so. First, Prana should size their shorts without elastic waistbands in standard sizing by inches. Sizing in S,M,L,XL is fine for swim trunks and athletic apparel but for a pair of buttoned shorts it's wholly inadequate. Second, if you're going to size shorts by S, M, L, XL then follow the standard sizing. I wear the same size from everyone but have a hard time buttoning these because they're quite tight. I'd send them back but hope to lose a few pounds so they will probably work. But it is frustrating when my Patagonia, North Face, Arcteryx and REI shorts all fit and these are snug. Lastly, the stretch to three shorts is insignificant. I have some Patagonia Rock Craft Shorts that I LOVE and I was hoping it these had a similar amount of stretch but they don't. Maybe I'll get used to them and like more once I drop about 20 LBS but at this point they're a bit disappointing. The sizing is the biggest stickler for me. Make sure you try them before you buy them.

I actually bought 2 pairs of these - in mud (grayish brown) and dark ginger (golden khaki) - because I loved how comfortable these were from the moment I tried them on. They fit very well too, granted they are a bit long for my liking (I prefer above the knee and these cover my knee) but after wearing these for 2 weeks while traveling Europe I have gotten past the length. Since I bought these for traveling, the one feature I found in other shorts that I would have liked in these are secure zipper pockets in more optimal places. The only zipper pocket these have are the cargo pocket on the left leg, and I found it odd that it had 2 zippers (one on top and one on the side) to access the same pocket. Then again, these probably are designed with reason and not with the traveler first in mind.

I've spent over an hour trying to succinctly describe what I love so much about these shorts. For the sake of the reader, I've scrapped a couple of long essays that laud them. Suffice to say that I searched everywhere for a good pair of climbing shorts, and these are hands down the most functional, comfortable, and stylish shorts I've ever owned. I now use them for basically everything I do during the summer, and I can't imagine a better fabric or a better design. Probably the best thing about the shorts is that the adjustable waistband works so well. I've never had any pants fit my size 31 waist as perfectly as these do (I wear the small), and it's clearly thanks to the minimalist but somehow incredibly comfortable waistband. It's so convenient not to need a belt, especially when wearing a climbing harness. For further harness-wearing comfort, a gusseted inseam prevents the pants from bunching up, and hidden vents along the inseam allow air to circulate even when your leg loops are tightened. The pockets are well-placed and functional, even when carrying the relatively heavy and bulky combination of wallet, cell phone, and keys. I can't say enough good things about the design of these shorts. As to the fabric and weave, prAna has achieved a dream combination of breathable, water resistant, quick-drying, stretchy, durable, and stain resistant. Every time I put them on, I'm surprised that such a lightweight, technical fabric can have such a comfortable and stylish drape, following the contour of the leg rather than billowing out to the side or clinging against the skin. These shorts are the best!

These shorts are so comfortable I wear them all the time. I am now buying another pair. I love their length, which sits at or just below the knee. The built in belt actually works and does not slip when active. The fabric is pretty durable but is just starting to wear/thinning in the butt area, but this is after 2 seasons of constant wear with some periods of activity scooting along rocks and such. My only complaint is the cargo pocket which has a top and side zipper, I am not exactly sure what the benefit of 2 zippers is except an extra way to accidentally loose your stuff and/or an extra zipper to split when pocket is loaded at capacity. Make them lower by 1 inch and remove the side zipper on the cargo pocket and they would be my perfect short. I am a 32" - 33" waist and the medium is a great fit.
