Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are my new favorite pants! These are my new favorite pants! Just watch the sizing. I have had a couple pairs of these pants but the fit was never acceptable, but after playing around with a couple different sizes they fit like a glove. I don't know what it is about Prana's size charts, but they are all off. I am 5'11, 175#, measure 32" waist, 38-39" hip and a 31" inseam. The small regular fit great without being tight anywhere. I noticed that when I bumped up to the medium (ended up returning because they were too baggy and long) the inseam increased ?? despite what REI states is a 32" inseam, it's not. I highly recommend trying these on before ordering if at all possible. The color Khaki is a little lighter in color than portrayed on the website. THEY DO NOT SHRINK ?? they are nylon and spandex! The material is great, water resistant thanks to a scotch guard coating (I imagine this will wear off over time) and very stretchy. Only one pocket on the leg with two zippers to one compartment (one on top/ one on the side) which is perfect for accessing the pocket while sitting down. These may not be the best hot weather pants ?? I wore them in Malaysia with 90% humidity and 90degree F temps and my undercarriage was sweating like crazy. There are three little holes (like you would find on the top of a ball cap) situated in the crotch area of each leg?they don't do anything at all, but they are there. The best thing about these pants is the comfort, and the fact that they are socially acceptable to wear in public. I've had several compliments on them from people at work and while traveling. They can pack down pretty small ?? rolled up they are about 3.5" Diameter x 8" or so ?? but two pairs can easily be crammed into a 5L stuff sack. They do wrinkle kind of easily ?? but hang them up in the hotel room over night and the wrinkles release. They are also pretty quick drying when they get saturated, which is a huge plus for those of us who do laundry in the hotel sink. Bottom line: if you want super stretchy, comfortable, good looking pants ?? buy these now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best pants ever worn I have a complete review of these pants under the 30" inseam version (which is not currently available from REI in brown). I'm adding this review to post a photo of what the brown pants actually look like. It's not a big deal, but the color is slightly different than the REI photo. (The 30" inseam & M waist, by the way, fits me perfectly even though I'm really a 29" inseam, which is impossible to fit, esp. in hiking pants.) As for these pants, they are the most comfortable pants I've ever worn. The stretch feature means they don't bind, and that makes all the difference. It allows the leg to be cut narrower without being restrictive, while the gusseted crotch provides room where you want it. I wear these Zion pants at home, at work, at church, and even hiking and camping! I don't miss the zip-offs at all. These pants are cool enough for summer (at least in Colorado). I like the built in belt, but the strap hangs down, which looks odd, so I tuck it in. I like the open back pocket for my wallet--no fighting with dang velcro! But for more security, use the right rear pocket. The cuffs can be rolled up and snapped in place. Useful for crossing shallow creeks. Keeps your ankles a bit cooler but frankly, I haven't bothered. The brown color does show dirt more, as least whitish dirt such as we have here (visible in the photo).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favorite Pants I have had 3 pairs of these pants for about a 18 months. I absolutely love them. They are so comfortable and they look great. I wear them for hiking, traveling, casual occasions, and even to work (on casual dress days). These are definitely my go to pants. My only suggestion to improving them would be to have a button or velcro closure on one of back pockets. Other than that, I don't have any suggestions for how to improve these pants. I love that they have a bit of stretch to them and how soft the fabric - soft but durable. The pants are also treated something to make them stain resistent. I have spilled coffee on my pants several times and it just beads up and I am able to wipe it off with no hint of a stain. Sizing: I am 6 ft 1 inches tall and I weigh 168 lbs. I wear a waist size small and length 34 inches. I wish REI would carry the 34 inch length. Since they don't, I have purchased these pants in the 34 inch length from other retailers. Note, REI, please carry these pants in the longer length.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Information on fit. I just received these and thought I would give some thoughts on fit that may help someone make a better decision on sizing. I ordered these in large, 32" inseam. The sizing chart notes that a large will be 33-34" in the waist. I am 5'11" and 180 lbs. My inseam is 32". Using a tape measure, my waist is 35". While wearing the pants with the belt fully loosened, I am able to tuck all fingers of both hands into the waistband without any effort. The length seems to be right on, with the back cuff of the legs resting slightly above the base of the heel of my hiking boots. Pants appear well made and comfortable (only around the house as of now). I am happy with the fit and hope to be happy when I get try these outside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent, versatile pants I recently purchased these pants & took them on their first outting: Quetico Provincial Park in Ontario for an 11-day canoeing/fishing trip. I travelled in these pants & wore them several days throughout the trip as well. They are very comfortable & found that they dried very quickly after washing them as well. I'm 5'10 with a 32" inseam & 31" waist, 32/Medium fit perfect & they can be taken in at the waist thanks to the built in cinch/belt. The fit is slightly athletic, as the pants are not bulky at all, nor are they too tight. The pockets are on the smaller side, but don't have annoying buttons or velcro that would otherwise cause synthetic shirts to fray. The double-zip cargo pocket (zips on top & the front/side) seems unnecessary, but doesn't get in the way. The snaps at the bottom of the pant legs help while portaging through puddles, or when you don't want wet pant legs sticking to your ankles. Found no signs of wear on the rear end after many hours in the canoe & several meals taken seated on rocks/tree trunks. Overall, excellent quality, very comfortable and stylish, would recommend to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome pants I usually wear about a size 31 waist in pants. Bought these in a size small, still had a little room around the waist, but the built in belt was enough to hold them up. Love the pants, can't stop wearing them. I've only had a chance to take them out on one backpack trip so far, but they performed excellently. I would totally buy these again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants I love these pants. I purchased two pairs, khaki and brown, four months ago. I have worn them back and forth continuously during those four months. (Khaki's one day, brown the next etc.) They have not ripped or broken seam anywhere. I wear the khaki's to work everyday (walking, cold environment, meat dept.) where they get a bit wet. They dry by the time I'm home. They are water resistant still. If you spill a glass of water or other liquid on them and then stand up, it will bead off. However, if you leave the liquid it will eventually go through. They have no stains at all despite getting blood and dirt on them many many times. These pants are the only pants I wear. You should buy them if they look appealing to you. Great buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best pants for a CLIMBER ever. First off, lets recognize the brand of these pants, PRANA. Which means the best uses for these pants are most likely yoga or climbing. The snaps on the legs are so climbers can shorten the length so they dont catch when heel hookin or making a nasty dyno to the next move. To the reviewers who say they dont like the fit or arent made for hiking/backpacking etc, well they didnt have the novice camper in mind when they made these pants. They are made for ppl who are very active and slim fitting to meet their needs in yoga or climbing. These pants were made for ppl who can wear these to work(business casual w/ a polo), and then go out to the crag afterward without having to haul extra clothing for no reason. The material is superlight and super comfortable. The air holes in the crotch are a great idea, its not for air to come through, its for your crotch to breath b/c any climber knows how rancid it gets down there if there are no holes to breath. They are perfect for traveling, looking good enough for a night on the town and just right for climbing in the same location. If you are an avid climber these will now be your new favorite pair of pants. Super comfortable and fit like a dream. im 6'2 189 and a medium 34L fit like a glove. to anyone else who doesnt understand why they made these pants a certain way just doesnt get it and probably had no idea what they were buying anyway and weren't made for you to begin with.
