The Marmot Precip is one of the few good brands online that offer a tall size in rain jackets. I've had the Precip for half a year now and have exposed it to some serious precipitation. This jacket has kept me bone dry every time. I'm 6'5 and the length on this jacket is outstanding, long enough in the sleeves and torso. I've found this jacket to be long enough in fact, to wear over a daypack and keep it dry as well, eliminating the need for a packcover on hikes. The only complaint with this jacket are the Velcro tabs that fasten the zipper covers. A great tall jacket.

I wish the bill in the hood extended out a little further, and that the body was slightly longer. I can live with them, but just barely. Was glad to find a long-sleeved rain jacket.

Not much to say here. This is an affordable waterproof-breathable rain shell. It's lightweight, does a great job of shedding rain and keeping you dry, and it comes in tall sizes (which I wish REI would carry more of). The cons are that like most 2.5-layer shells, it's not quite as breathable as it claims, although it's still adequate. And because it's so lightweight, the fabric won't put up with a ton of abuse. But overall, a solid choice, especially for us tall people who have few other options...

Has kept me dry for an entire portland, oregon chilly, wet season of daily bike commutes. Recommended modifications include:
1. Sleeves that can be pulled up over the elbow
2. Improve ventilation (more vents?)
3. Subtle reflective material
4. More robust velcro

Got the size large Tall jacket. Park ranger green. I am 182 pounds, 74 inches tall, with 78 inch wing span, and the sleeves are long enough. Usually wear a 44 long in suit jackets. Very packable. Agree with comments about body length. You need to wear rain pants for an extended soak. As a jacket to carry in a lumbar pack in case you get caught in the weather, though, it's a great max/min - packable, but good coverage in your core and arms.
