Comments about REI Venturi Shorts - Men's:
I have used these for hiking and mountain biking, and am very happy with my purchase. The fabric has a very solid, abrasion-resistant feel, without being super heavy.
When hiking, they shed dew and rain well, but are pretty light, and give very good range of motion without a lot of bulk/chafing. There aren't a lot of pockets, but that's fine -- i hate hiking with full pockets.
I like them even better for mountain biking. I wear them as "baggies" over padded bike shorts. Unlike most "baggies" they are not at all baggy, so i don't catch them on sticks or handlebars. Again, i like the minimal pockets that lie close and flat, and zip closed. Plus the zippers have garages so they don't jingle! The crotch is gusseted and seamless so they are not restrictive when pedalling, don't create pressure in the saddle, and don't snag when trying to get behind the saddle.

Comments about REI Venturi Shorts - Men's:
It is hard to find a better, more durable pair of shorts. Especially that are this nice looking. In temperatures over 110 degrees, shorts become business attire. These look nice enough to wear to clubs (and they have been). They have also been kayaking and paddle boarding. They dry super fast and don't weigh more when wet!

Comments about REI Venturi Shorts - Men's:
I wasn't a huge fan of the color, but that's such a personal choice it was hard to list that as a true 'con'. Regardless, really comfortable shorts, non-binding without feeling or looking baggy. Comfortable and easy to reach pockets. Excellent material which dries quick, is water resistant, and very comfortable from the start.

Comments about REI Venturi Shorts - Men's:
The gusseted crotch is constructed out of thin, smooth, but durable material. It's supposed to work with climbing gear, but it works great on a bicycle. I use the shorts to bike to work and they look good enough to wear all day. The cut is a little long for me, but that's the style these days. The extra pockets are big enough for an iPhone.

Comments about REI Venturi Shorts - Men's:
These shorts are very comfortable and look very nice. I have taken them on a couple of runs now and a few times to the climbing gym and they have proven to be worth the money. The only complain I have is that the buckle or button is a bit hard to get undone, and the zipper sounds like its gonna break every time i take them off.

Great summer short, dries fast and durable. The best shorts I own. I find myself going to them more and more on long river days.
