Comments about Keen Alamosa WP Hiking Shoes - Women's:
I wanted to love these gorgeous low boots and take them to Egypt as my main trekkers. I tried them on in the store in an 8, and they fit like a slipper-like glove except for being a tad bit short. The colors are gorgous, the sole is great for walks that may take you off-road, the footbed and heel/ankle areas are well-cushioned and supportive.
I ordered them in an 8.5 online and wore them around the house for a couple of hours because they were soooo comfy (like a supportive, cross-training slipper). Unfortunately, after the first 30-40 minutes I began to feel tightness against the outside of my right foot at the widest point. Tightness turned to pain, and then I began to feel it on the left foot as well. I gave them a rest and put them on again the next day during a 2.5 hour drive. When I got out of the car, both of my feet hurt terribly. It seems to me that on the outside towards the toebox there are at least 3 materials crossing and joining together. It is exactly at this point where the tightness, rubbing and pain is.
Unfortunately, I will be returning these. However, I would still recommend them to someone else who may not have the same specific problem I did because they are great in every other way.

I wear these shoes everyday rain or shine for hiking and commuting on my bike. As with any shoe you have to make sure they fit your feet and walking style. Hence, I test them in the store and wear the socks I normally wear for using them. My feet are narrow and my arch is high so these are just right for me. They do run small so I did go up a half size for comfort. I have worn them for nine months and they are holding up better than most. Also, the breathability and waterproofing work on these boots. I am impressed with the quality compared to others I have owned before. Lastly, there was no real break in time. So, take the time to see if they fit your feet ... and if they do, you will be pleased.

I bought these shoes for hiking. I was looking for low shoes (I do not like how the higher ones fit me) that were waterproof and comfy enough to wear on full day hikes. I have worn them out of two 12+ mile hikes and so far I still love them. They were comfy right out of the box. No break in needed. Supportive. Great traction (one hike was in the snow and all I needed were these shoes) and they are for sure waterproof (feet still dry after having to cross a few streams and walking in the snow all day). Love love love.

I'm a competitive disc golfer and while traversing the courses, it's imparative to have comfortable shoes. I purchased this shoe as a follow-on to the "original" Targhee shoe that I really love.
The only "Con" I would say about this shoe and it's only in comparison to the Targhee, is that it seems a bit more "snug" in terms of size. Not that it's uncomfortable, just snug....which I'm okay with.

I normally wear a 7.5, I bought these in an 8, and think I will return them for and 8.5. I tried and 8 on in one store it fit great, very comfortable. Went to another store to try on other shoes and tried the Alamosa on as well, it still had some room but had a ridge running across the arch of the right shoe. Tried them on at REI to see if I could find a pair that I liked. Out of four different pairs each one felt different and for the most part felt too small. I sorted through and found a left and a right that felt like they might do the trick. This morning though, they don't feel so big. So they are going back for an 8.5 if I can find one that fits.. Unfortunately these are the only one's I've found that aren't too narrow or have a high arch. Each store had a different one of the shoe colors, so maybe the feel difference depends on the colors. Haven't tried hiking in them yet.

A warning for those of you who buy Keens for their width. I ordered these online & will have to return them. I was able to try on the Targhee at a store & the toe box was wide but so was the heel cup & my heel slipped.

Loved this and the superfeet I bought with it. No need to break the shoes in and I wear them almost everyday because they are durable and I can walk a lot. I still hurt from standing too much but that is typical from any shoe and back problems.

I walk 2 miles from the train to the office every day and then another 2 miles from the office back to the train in the evening. With the rainy season upon us, I bought these waterproof shoes to keep my feet dry. Today was my first chance at trying it out. Just as the train reached the train station the rain began. As I started out on my walk, I was delighted but soon my left foot toe area got totally wet. Changing shoes at the office, the entire inside toe bed is saturated. Im not sure if the rain was too hard but I was disappointed in my brand new [$] waterproof shoes for sure. The right shoe was fine. Maybe it was a defective pair but not what I had wanted.

I wear these shoes almost everyday. I bought them for hiking, but they were so comfortable that I started wearing them all the time! They're a bit expensive, but I feel it's worth it if my feet are happy!
