Rated5out of5byMSquared2fromPerfect commuter packI bought this pack to use while riding my bike to and from work. I have a 33 mile round trip, so I needed something that would be stable and comfortable even when stuffed full. Most of the reviews for this pack are regarding hiking, so I wanted to add a different perspective. (I have also taken this on day hikes loaded with 15-20 pounds and it's been great. I plan on using it snowshoeing this winter as well.)
I am so happy I bought this bag opposed to other designated commuting bags. I tried a Timbuk2 messenger bag briefly and hated it. This bag comfortably carries a change of clothes, my lunch, my iPad (I slip it in the hydration sleeve), a towel, and all sorts of little extras that I throw in it. I clip a blinking red light to the back and have used the helmet clip a few times and it's worked great. It's never felt too heavy on my back even when fully loaded and it's no issue to look over my shoulder and check for traffic. The hipbelt pockets are perfect for keys or chapstick or a phone. The only small downside is that it's not waterproof.
I am an average sized woman at 5'-5" and bought the small/medium. All of the adjustments make it easy to find a custom fit.

Rated5out of5byliliafromA super day packFantastic for all day hikes in all sorts of terrain.
The only thing I would add is a Stow On The Go system: Some day hikers like to use trekking poles, too.
And the side compression straps really mess up the water bottle access, whether you thread them through or over the pockets, so a redesign would be nice.
That said, I happily overlook these minor flaws because everytime I decide to look for a better day pack, I fail. Even the Deuter Act Lite that I really liked got returned because the hip belt hurt my hips, but the Talon 22 never fails me.
On a full day hike, it holds a fleece, a windbreaker, extra socks, first aid kit, flash light, compass, map, 2 x 32 oz water bottles, phone, buff, a full day worth of food and snacks and my trekking poles (folded and stuffed in the stretchy mesh pocket on the front of the pack) and still has room to spare.
Since I don't use a hydration bladder I use that pocket for extra layers in cold weather.
I never get sore wearing this pack, ever.

Rated5out of5by31monkeysfromPerfect 1-2 day packI use this for day hikes and it carries all my gear comfortably with room to spare, minimalists can easily use this for a 2 day hike.
This has the capabilities of being adjusted in all the right spots including back length which makes it super comfortable.
I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a comfortable pack with tones of space for a 1-2 day hike.

Rated4out of5bycharacterfrombreathable pack for warm weather hikesThis backpack is roomier than I would have guessed by the 22 liters. Having the hydration reservoir between your back and the backpack means it doesn't take up any internal space. The back panel, shoulder straps and hipbelt are all very breathable, I even felt chilly first time out with this backpack compared to my old daypack - so it's great for hot weather hiking. The mesh hipbelt pockets also have a serious drawback - anything you stow in there won't be protected from dust or rain (and for that I deducted 1 star). I like that this pack is zipper-loading, but I wish there were more zippered compartments on/in it for better organizing. The outer stretchy "pocket" is definitely very useful for outerwear/clothing layers storage. As my Osprey skiing backpack, also this one has weight well distributed and feels light on your back (as tested on a 10 mile day hike). I am 5'81/2" with ~20" torso and I bought M/L in order to have the hipbelt sitting at my hips as it should ("women specific" backpacks out there are a joke for tall girls like me).
