Comments about Osprey Talon 22 Pack:
I'm loving this pack. I am 6'2" with a 36" waist so I bought the M/L and it fits perfectly. The harness is very adjustable and can be adjusted in a matter of seconds. The pack size is perfect for trail running, hiking, biking being just big enough but not too big allowing a good range of motion. I have only had this pack for a day but I have already thrown two 10 pound weighs in there and wore it while walking my dogs for about 4 mi. very comfortable. I doubt I'll ever actually carry that much weight in it but it's good to get an estimate of its capabilities. The pockets are wonderful. the shoulder pockets look small but I was able to stuff my moto droid in it without a problem. The hip belt pockets are also very spacious. I love how Osprey pays attention to all the small details of the pack like the zipper pulls and the excess strap clips so you don't have a bunch of straps flinging around. Another clever thing I saw is that the bag compression straps are ran through the INSIDE of the side bottle pouches thus making it a 10000X more accessible for storage and slipping your bottle in there. I hate when packs run them on the outside so you have to undo and redo the strap every time you take something out or put It in. anyway, you'll be amazed about all the small details of this pack. 5 stars easy.

Comments about Osprey Talon 22 Pack:
This is easily the most comfortable backpack I've ever had, comfortably carrying heavy loads (10 lbs +). The design is thoughtful and the hip and strap pockets are very spacious. If you're a hiker, cyclist, runner or simply about town with some lunch and a sweater, I can't recommend this pack higher if it fits you (and it's very adjustable).
However, for hauling stuff back and forth to work, including a laptop and papers, it is lacking due to the shape of the main storage compartment. A 13" laptop rises all the way to the top of the pack, restricting the top organization pocket which is mesh and hangs down to the main compartment. The stiff back panel contributes to comfort, but makes it further difficult to fit an item like a laptop or text book. It's still comfortable enough that I'll keep carrying it, but if you're a student or commuter, it might not suit your needs.

Comments about Osprey Talon 22 Pack:
As a very small framed petite woman, it wasn't easy to find the right pack. I've looked FOREVER. I speed walk to work and back everyday and carry my lunch, change of clothes, sometimes shoes and I needed capacity and support. This is the best pack EVER. I have a Gregory pack which is ok, but the Osprey is actually much roomier, even though its cubic space is smaller. Every time I have on the Gregory pack, someone tells me, "that pack is bigger than you"! The Osprey fits like it was made for me, it is comfortable even when it's fairly heavy, and gives great support. If you are a petite and need a supportive pack, this is the one for you!

Comments about Osprey Talon 22 Pack:
What a great pack! My boyfriend got one last summer and loves it, and so I finally decided to replace my old Camelbak. I won't repeat everything the other reviewers have said about comfort and adjustability. I just wanted to add that the changes from the 2010 model make this bag near perfect. After obsessively comparing the two, I can only find minor but positive changes. For instance, the inner velcro pocket is in a more convenient location, they got rid of the loop closure for the hydration pocket, which didn't really do much, the compression straps on the sides can now be rerouted to run either inside or outside the side pockets, and there are now tabs on the waist straps that make it easier to adjust. I could do without the bike helmet clip, but might just cut it off unless I can find an alternative use for it. All I can think is that someone at Osprey is as crazy as me when it comes to details like this. :)

Comments about Osprey Talon 22 Pack:
I am 6'2" 208lbs and the M/L pack fits great. It is highly adjustable and easy to find the right size.
I took this for a 15 mile round trip hike along the Ice Age Trail and though my shoulders did get a little sore, I took the weight off and let it rest on my hips for a few minutes to let my shoulders recover.
Osprey hit the nail on the head with this pack. Every pocket has a purpose. I like that their are two hip pockets. I had a builder bar, clif bar, and powerbar in one hip pocket and a pair of binoculars in the other.
The main compartment held my rain jacket, rain pants, jetboil, dehydrated meal, tea cup, camera, and an extra midweight layer with room to spare.
The top pocket held my towel, first aid kit, and multi tool.
The outside stuff compartment is really cool for layers you take on and off alot during your trip without having to go through your whole pack. I kept my Marmot Driclime Windshirt in there along with my bandana.
I had my 3L camelbak in the reservoir compartment and had no problems with it sliding around. A very snug fit.
This pack was a great investment and I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Comments about Osprey Talon 22 Pack:
This is an update to my previous post as i have now done some biking, hiking running and daily commuting with this bag. One of my runs was about 5 miles and had no problems with this bag. it stayed stable and didn't bounce around too much. I was able to cinch down the compression straps to give it a good solid feel. On my latest hike i was able to shove a surprising amount of stuff in it. As it was a particularly cruddy day and hiking with noobs i had a good bit of gear. I had, (medium first aid kit, fleece, hard shell, shemagh, running gloves, head lamp, snacks (for everybody), 3L bladder (full), flip camera, binoculars) and still had room for more. I haven't had any chafing problems and the pack stays comfy after long periods even running. The only problem i have found is that the side hip pockets aren't a super easy one handed close. They will open with one hand easy but when you need to use two hands to zip it closed. Other then that I have found nothing else to gripe about.

Comments about Osprey Talon 22 Pack:
This is THE MOST comfortable backpack I've ever worn. I snagged the wrong size at a sale for [$], but being a petite female I now need to buy the S/M and will be passing my M/L on to my boyfriend. I hate wearing other packs now because the straps on this backpack are so unbelievably comfortable (I'm sure I could fall asleep with this pack on). Great adjustment (I wear an XS in Gregory Packs and can still wear this M/L comfortably on 8 miles hikes packed full), great pockets and features, easy to stash snacks, a small camera or a multi-tool in the hip pockets, two water bottles and a bladder and be able to hold all of this without really feeling it. I will never happily wear another backpack again. It's durable too, no problems with any seams or zippers with over a year of use. I take a bow to Osprey for this backpack. I'd recommend this to all my friends.

Comments about Osprey Talon 22 Pack:
Love the versatility of this pack. I use it for day hikes, minimalist multi-day hikes, running, biking, traveling, going to work, etc. It's small enough to cinch to your back when you need it but don't want to feel it, and big enough to pack it to the brim. I disagree with others who said that laptops don't fit, as I frequently carry mine in it (along with a ton of other stuff. It slides down behind the mesh bag that hangs down into the main compartment, which allows it to fit, and also keeps it from sliding around. I'm 5-10 and the M/L fits no problem (and is easy to adjust). Can't complain about much at all - I love this thing!

Comments about Osprey Talon 22 Pack:
This is a great day pack! I've owned this for over a year and use it regularly. It is extremely comfortable and is light weight. I like how there are two small pockets on the shoulder straps. I also own an Osprey Exos 58 and it only has a pocket on one side. For me, the two pockets work out extremely well: one for chapstick, one for the cell phone.
The height on the pack is adjustable, you just open up the spot where the reservoir goes, un-velcro the shoulder straps and reposition reposition. The pack rides very nicely, vents well and has side compression straps to secure loads.
If there is one drawback, it's minor. The pack has the clip to attach a hydration reservoir but lacks the support to hold a reservoir without it sliding down. Overall, this is a great pack that I plan to have for a very long time!

Love this pack! I am a woman, 5'8, medium build and I purchased S/M. I love how this pack fits. It is curved to fit your body and is very comfortable on the trail. I highly recommend this pack for day hikes. I just wish they had all the cute colors when I purchased mine!
