I love this jacket so much I bought a second one and am considering a 3rd. SO lightweight. I use it as a liner on my motorcycle. It packs neatly in its bag and I use it as a neck pillow on the airplane. Word of caution, if you DO use it on a motorcycle, make sure the pockets are zipped or the packsack will fly out. One last note. While riding my bike it started pouring. The exterior of the jacket got soaked, but the inside stayed dry and warm. Then the sun came back out and within 5 minutes the jacket was totally dry again. LOVE IT!!

Received the jacket as a gift at Christmas, the jacket is very compressible which is great for packing and provides great warm. After 1 month, the jacket started tot show sign of wear. The threads are stating to come loose and the thread fibers are starting to come apart. The condition was made worse when I started to carry my back pack.
Overall, the jacket still provides great warm, wished it would still look as good as it feels. I probably be looking for another jacket next season.

I can't believe how much I like this jacket. I have a jacket thing and this is by far the best jacket I have bought in years. Super light weight and unbelieveably warm. Primaloft is king in my book. I will always be a down guy for warmth, but this jacket is the best all around jacket I own. Great for traveling and I use it as a mid layer as well under down for long days on the stand. Down is just to bulky compared to primaloft. Can't say enough good stuff about it. Do yourself a favor and buy primaloft and you will thank me, guarenteed!

Basically chose between this and the Patagonia Nano Puff. Both are great and both are VERY similar jackets. The chambering in the Nano feels better constructed and the chest and shoulders have more give in the Nano (if you don't have a big chest or wide shoulders, then get the REI, I would have). The fit is great otherwise, there is more give in the neck than with the Nano. I like both jackets a lot, but it really boiled down to the Patagonia having more give up top, and not having to worry about ripping a seam if I were too active in it.

I bought this jacket with the intention of using it for overnight backpacking trips...replacing my REI fleece jacket. Now, I'm wearing it al the time! Here's why: It's super lightweight, cozy & warm,and looks cool (has kind of a shiny appearance) The fit is good (XL) I'm 6'2" 220. Zippers work great and nice drawstrings at bottom keep the wind out. Includes stuff sack to put in pack when not in use.
Some drawbacks: Not good in rain..soaks up the water. But that's what a shell is for, right?. Starts to look a bit worn (compared to when I first got it...collar starts to darken for some reason (I wear pomade in my hair maybe)
Overall I completely LOVE this jacket. The silk-like outer material is incredibly comfortable against the skin as well. Get one and you won't be sorry.

Got this jacket today in time for another cold spell here in the midwest. Wore the jacket out tonight for a walk. Weather.com indicates: 27° feels like 19° with 8mph wind. All I had on were a cotton tee, thin thermal shirt and this jacket. My torso was not cold at all during the 1/2 hour walk. Compared to my old setup where I would have to wear a tee shirt + 100/200 weight mid-layer fleece + Mountain Hardware Windstopper fleece.

I got the jacket comparing it to the marmot. I wish I got the marmot. I tryed it on in the store and it was great fit and feel. I have had it one week and noticed prmiloft coming out of the threads. Loose pieces got stuck in the velcro from my phone pouch rendering it useless. Check the pockets I found a big hole in the right pocket after a couple of days. going to return it but wondering if I should try another brand.

Well this jacket is exceeding my expectations so far. I wanted a lightweight, packable, warm jacket that I can use around town on colder days or up hiking and camping. when you first feel it, You'd think " How can this keep you warm? " Well it does a nice job ! It's in the 30's right now with a nice breeze and I'm cozy warm. I think this is a great alternative to the higher priced brands.

Yeah, it was a Christmas gift which I picked out. I thought only goose down kept you warm. I've worn this on three January hikes now, and I'm impressed. Didn't just keep me warm, but kept me comfortable. In other words, as I my body got warmer from hiking, it was like magic. I'm guessing breathability. No change in comfort level from perfect. I wore this under my
REI Event waterproof jacket and it was amazing. Temps here in Richmond, VA area not extremely cold - and between 30's to 60's F. Yet very comfortable. Wore it every day to and from work for last two weeks, with morning temps in 30's to 40's and again- super comfortable. Underneath- a normal shirt, and under that a t-shirt. So I'm actually looking forward to cold weather for the first time in my life so I can further test this thing, and I'm now into Winter hiking- a huge transition in my life. Primaloft?
