Comments about REI Revelcloud Jacket - Women's:
I tried several jackets including the nanopuff before finally finding this one. This jacket was the right combo of warmth, fit and compressibility I was looking for. The fit was more trim than the nanopuff and many down sweaters I tried. It still does look a bit big around the shoulders--but my shoulders are big ; ) I also loved the length, most jackets in a small are way too short for me (5'9" 135lbs) but the small fit perfectly with room for sweater or fleece underneath. The jacket is warm with out being too warm. upper 30s, 40s and 50s. you could get away with a tee and still be comfortable lower 30s a fleece under does the trick. I never feel too hot with this jacket--the permaloft does a great job of regulating heat. If you are going lower than 30s then you may need another down or alternative layer--unless its a quick dash into buildings. The outer fabric doesnt seem very durable but I have yet to scrape it against something. It is very wind resistant. The only negative on the construction is with the wrist bands they are made of a elastic material like the nanopuff's and they wick like a wool sweater. I wore my jacket for a week and noticed strings and dingle berries hanging from the wrist bands. Not a big deal for me especially since the comparable nanopuff has the same elastic and the same problems (reviews from other sites). For the climate I live in this jacket is as close to perfect as I could find--the grey color is great too!

Comments about REI Revelcloud Jacket - Women's:
My Revelcloud just returned from its inaugural weekend ski trip, and I love it! It is light, warm, and provided just enough warmth and protection from early spring breezes at 11,000 ft skiing in the Colorado Rockies. The fit is perfect, and I didn't even know I was wearing it - I don't like thinking about or fussing with clothing during my activities, and this piece passed with flying colors. Speaking of color, the Blue Jay is beautiful: bright, an easy color for friends to recognize, and pleasing to the eye. Zippers are strategically placed, especially the hidden chest pocket which perfectly accommodates lip balm and a credit card. These zippers also seem more durable than some REI has used in the past.... The drawcord at the hem is easy to adjust and is very effective at sealing out errant drafts.
REI has a winner in this jacket!

Comments about REI Revelcloud Jacket - Women's:
This is a perfect synthetic midlayer. It is less compressible than it's down counterpart (patagonia down sweater), but primaloft always is. It is actually more fitted and flattering than a lot of other similar jackets in other brands.

Comments about REI Revelcloud Jacket - Women's:
I love this jacket, however had I paid full price and not have purchased the Dark Rhubarb color on sale, I might have considered returning it. My stats: 5'10", 150-155lbs, size 6-8, busty, slightly pearish hips. This jacket fits nearly exactly like the Patagonia Down Sweater (with one exception that I will get to later), only less bulky. If you are familiar with the Patagonia Down Sweater, you might understand how you can be in between sizes or size down. With the Down Sweater I am a small or a medium, but chose the medium in order to have longer arm length and a longer hem line so that when I reach up the jacket doesn't get stuck on my chest and show the world my mid section. I first bought a medium in the Revelcloud, which, like the Down Sweater, offered longer arm length, longer torso length, and was roomy and comfortable. HOWEVER, and here is the exception I spoke of earlier, the shoulders in the medium were incredibly boxy. Past the point of comfort and into the realm of extremely unattractive. So I exchanged it for a small which is much more flattering, but have shorter arms and a shorter hem which cause me to constantly be aware of pulling my inner shirt down over the back of my pants. Generally, I am a function over fashion woman, nah, that's not entirely true, I need both. I will not sacrifice function/comfort for fashion, however in this instance I believe I yielded a wee bit. The nuisances of the shorter length are minor and tolerable for me given that I got such a good deal on the jacket and plan to wear it mainly as a mid-layer anyway. It fits superbly under my Patagonia down sweater for super chilly days, works great under a vest, and I can comfortably fit a couple of thin, wool, base layers and light sweater beneath it. The angled zipper hand pockets are very flattering as it emphasizes the waist-to-hip ratio of a woman's figure. I also tried the Patagonia Nano Puff jacket and REI's version, this Revelcloud, is definitely better suited to a woman's figure, as others have commented. Glad I have it. Time will tell whether or not I would have paid full price...

I first bought the Patagonia down sweater and decided that it looked too boxy and made me look like the Michelin man.
This jacket is so much more flattering and stylish. It fits a little on the bigger side. I usually wear a medium but the small fit me.
No, it doesn't have the label name but it's cheaper, looks so much better and comes in friendlier colors and I like the fact that the primaloft is made from recycled bottles and the shell is recycled polyester. This jacket is a winner.

Comments about REI Revelcloud Jacket - Women's:
This jacket is more fitted and flattering than comparable jackets like the down sweater and others. It is the perfect midlayer for skiing, or a mid or outerlayer for cold weather cycling, hiking, or camping. I even wore it for 30 minutes in soaking rain and although the top layer of fabric started to get soaked, I was still dry underneath. REI did a good job with this jacket and the colors are great too.

Comments about REI Revelcloud Jacket - Women's:
Great coat except that it tears very easily (not specific to REI coat - but all of the light weight/packable coats are like this). If I had the choice I wouldn't buy it again - I've already gotten two tears and I'm trying to be careful.

Comments about REI Revelcloud Jacket - Women's:
I love this jacket! I just wore it skiing in the CO Rockies today on a very windy day with a storm moving in. I never felt the wind with this jacket on. It layers beautifully over a base layer and a fleece layer. I look forward to stuffing it in the included stuff sack and tossing it in my pack for hiking this summer. It will be lovely and warm on those cold mountain summits. And the green color is amazing!

Comments about REI Revelcloud Jacket - Women's:
This jacket is about as warm as a thin cardigan; it's only slightly warmer than a windbreaker. Given the other reviewers' comments, I was expecting something a little thicker and a LOT warmer. More pockets would be nice too. I'm afraid I'm going to have to exchange it for something with a bit more insulation.

Comments about REI Revelcloud Jacket - Women's:
Chilly weather feels much colder when you're on a bike. This jacket is _perfect_ for bike commuting on chilly and windy days. I've never felt too hot or too cold in it. I've only tried it down to 38 F so far, but I expect it would serve (with a sweater) down to 30 F. I also use it for walking around town. The dark grey color is as flattering as black, but a little more fun.
It's very light and very compressible.
I think the headphone zipper is a little silly and would have preferred to save the weight and do without it.
