The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner 110 GPS Heart Rate Monitor - Women's:
I use this for hikes, long walks, runs and my daily bike commute. I was set to buy the Garmin 405cX and saw this one on the Garmin site. Boy am I glad I did. I know people with the 405 and there are issues with the bezel and honestly, I didnt need all the fancy features. The 110 was $100 chearper and has everything I care about (logging miles, HR, time, upload capability to mapping software). The GPS is infallible - grabs satellites in the time it takes me to prep my ride, gear, etc. I run/hike through very dense forest in the Northwest and it has not lost the signal once. Setup was soooo easy. right out of the box as soon as I powered it up, it asked me the setup questions and then I was done and ready to run. No worries about bezel issues and operation is simple as well.
I don't need maps on the device, just the ability to download my route later which this does super via GarminConnect. I am so glad this is a free site. Great feature. I wanted the ability to track my times on my runs, know what time it is and view my HR and be able to toggle between those views simply. The 110 nailed it. I have used this for a few weeks now and still can't stop telling my friends about it.
There are only a couple downsides, but minor ones. The usb and charger are a little strange and it's inconvenient that it doesnt use the std usb cable. The other thing is that I am quite sure the calorie counter is pretty off. I don't blame Garmin, they dont sell the watch for that feature. If I compare my Garmin results against my Polar HR Monitor though, the numbers are almost 2X different. It's a minor inconvenience as the calories burned isnt that interesting to me. If it is to you, you may want to do a little more research.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner 110 GPS Heart Rate Monitor - Women's:
After a couple of months training with this watch, I can honestly say I'm completely happy with it.
In the past two months I have ran several training runs as well as a half marathon and it has been great. Very easy to set up and understand.
This watch has the basic necessary functions for somebody who runs and races recreationally. I also like how small it is compared to other GPS watches. I have been happy with how quickly it locates sattelites.
If you have searched the many internet reviews of this product, you may be under the impression that this watch does not show your pace. This is not exactly true. While it is correct that it does not diplay your real time pace, it does show what you currently are on pace for to finish the mile. (Or whatever unit you choose.) So if you ran the first half of the mile at a 10min/mile pace and started running the second half at a 8min/mile pace it would show that you were on track to finish that mile in 9 minutes. Every time you adjust your speed the pace on the watch will adjust. This is fine with me, others are very unhappy with it.
It counts calories according to your heart rate rather than distance and pace, which I like. The only thing I don't care for is the comfort of the HR moniter. I experienced some chafing on a 10 mile run. Tucking the strap partially under the band of my bra and some Body Glide around my bra area solved the problem. Have not had an issue since, even during a half marathon.
I purchased this watch with some trepidation due to the many unfavorable reviews. After spending some real time using it, I have no regrets and am very happy that I chose the 110 rather than a more expensive model.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner 110 GPS Heart Rate Monitor - Women's:
After using my Polar F6 for two years, I found myself running/hiking regularly and was looking for a comparable upgrade to GPS.
For that- the Garmin 110 fit the bill precisely. It still uses the chest strap for accurate heart rate/calorie burns (only about 100cals/ workout off from Polar F6 unlike another reviewer's experience).
I love now being able to see my pace, heart rate, distance all with the toggle of a button. I love being able to hook it up to GarminConnect and have it download this information as well as maps, elevation change, etc onto a website that can be accessed from any computer.
Also because it doesn't generically figure out your calorie burns based on pace/distance from the GPS, you can use it in the gym as well.
The GPS is very accurate! But turn it on as soon as you get out of the car so it has time to lock into a satellite, sometimes it can take a few minutes.
After now having this Garmin 110 for almost a year- there are some problems I have encountered. The watch would constantly freeze. I would have to reboot (and then re-enter all of my info) time after time. I would constantly have to read the Garmin message boards to figure out why/how to fix.
A software update seemed to fix this, but then it would stop reading the heart rate every few seconds. Meaning inaccurate calorie burns. As someone trying to lose weight- this is a really big deal.
Another software update fixed this. The last straw was the watch became completely useless. It would show me the elapsed time working out and my heart rate but wouldn't calculate burns, show distance or pace. After almost an hour on the phone with Garmin's customer service, they asked me to send it back. On my dime of course.
I sent it back- worried that I wouldn't get the replacement in time for an upcoming race. It did. And they had sent the wrong watch. So another long drawn out call to Garmin, I got them to foot the bill (this time) and got the correct watch sent out once they had proof the wrong one was in route (rather than waiting until it showed up at their facility which is normal policy) so that I could get it in time for the race.
The new (refurbished) watch seems to be working correctly and over all it is functional. Garmin's customer service was good, even though they sent the wrong watch.
Would I buy this product again? No. Should you? Depends on what you need from it. There aren't many products out there that provide both GPS and accurate calorie burns. Hopefully that will change with time.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner 110 GPS Heart Rate Monitor - Women's:
I've had this product for about a month. It has already died. The screen went blank like the battery was dead. We plugged it in somewhere else. It finally started working again, but when I tried to use it for a hike, the time wouldn't work and it kept freezing.
On a positive note, it is easy to use. I really do like it. It is a bit bulky for a ladies arm, but not unreasonable. The best feature is that you can download your workouts on the Garmin website and see what you've done including speed, elevation changes, heart rate. I love that.
Service and delivery comments:
Gotta love REI's fast, friendly service.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner 110 GPS Heart Rate Monitor - Women's:
I don't normally wear a watch, so my first run wearing this (rather large) GPS watch was very irritating. Luckily the second and third times got much easier (although I am still very much aware of it).
I find I push myself a bit more when I use it, so for me it's really motivating. I use it during my workouts to keep track of my heart rate or distance/pace.
As with most GPS devices, it takes a while to get satellites, and I've found that if I'm too lazy to stand and wait while it finds them it takes even longer!
I'm torn about how loudly the watch beeps. It beeps when you push a button, hit a mile/km marker, etc. It's too loud for indoors, but works well if there is traffic. I personally don't care to announce to the world that I'm wearing a GPS watch, which is how I feel when I'm trail running with little other background noise. (Perhaps the sound can be turned off and I just haven't found that yet.)
The connection to the computer can be a challenge, and I am not impressed with the usability of Garmin Connect software. It's not always clear when the watch is clearly hooked up to the computer, so if you have this problem move the connection to the watch around a bit.
Despite the drawbacks, I refuse to do a workout without it!

[...] I purchased this watch to help train for triathlons. I've had it for a couple weeks and have enjoyed the detailed information when syncing up with Garmin.com. I love that I'm able to view, in great detail, information about my run/bike, including, pace, distance, calories burned and heart rate. If you are thinking about this watch for similar training, I would recommend it. The only thing that I've noticed could be improved on this watch is the prongs on the charging clip. Unless you have them fit perfectly, Garmin.com will not read your workout history upload. I had to hold the watch in my hand to be sure that no other pressure was being put on the watch... so putting it on the counter or desk, while trying to upload your work out history will not work. The prongs are really sensitive. Overall, I am excited that this is a part of my training - seeing the details of each run/bike has been motivating and impressive!

Great watch. I love garmin connect and downloading run data to the computer. Its accurate and really helpful for training schedules where you want to run a certain distance each day. Only thing I would change is I would like more GPS functionality on the watch itself but this may be what you get with higher end models. overall I would highly recommend
