        After checking out the EWG sunscreen study, I decided to find a higher rated facial sunscreen and opted for Badger.

        The sunscreen offers great protection and is sweatproof. I've run 23 miles with it on and didn't experience any running or stinging of my contacts. On the downside this sunscreen feels very heavy and oily on, much more than the Bullfrog I used to use. Also, for anyone with a medium to darker skin tone, it requires a lot of rubbing in to avoid the mime look. Lastly, the sunscreen seems to come out of the tube separated - the thick lotion/cream and a yellow-ish liquid; due to the consistency of the sunscreen it's virtually impossible to shake or blend it to stop this.

        In my research, I noticed a lot of complaints about the lightly scented version; the unscented version has a "smell" but I don't find it bad or overpowering at all.

        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

          I'm a professional gardener as well as a hiker and I've been using this sunscreen for three or four years now. Yes, it makes me look pale, but the advantages are worth it. No chemicals, very effective, and the effectiveness doesn't diminish if you don't use it all up in one year. Some people might find it greasy but it doesn't seem much different than a lot of skin moisturizers to me.

          Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

            I am a sunscreen "Sergent" and have tried just about every product on the market to prevent my children from significant sun damage. This product is the BEST product I have found (I also like a zinc and titanium dioxide powder but it can irritate contacts). It is true that it does not rub in well (thanks to the zinc you will look white) and it does separate in the tube as the other reviews indicated. My family has sensitive skin and acne but we did not have any acne breakouts. If you or your children love the outdoors with full sun exposure this prevents a burn (try getting the kids out of the water to re-apply). We routinely travel to the Caribbean and may spend 8 hours in direct sunlight/water with fair-skinned individuals and children (blond hair/blue eye) wearing SPF 50+ clothing and hats. This product is not pretty but my goal has always been to prevent skin cancer in my children by preventing sunburn now and at some point you have to realize it is not a fashion show. Now if you are out there to look gorgeous now (and suffer wrinkles, "sun spots" and skin cancer later) then this product is not for you. I highly recommend this product even with the aforementioned difficulties.

            Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

              After seeing so many positive reviews on this product, I purchased two tubes for my family's trip to the beach in Mexico.

              Immediately, we were put off by the difficulty rubbing the cream and the unpleasant smell; the best we found that we could expect was to have a gray haze on our skin.

              After 4 days, two members of our family developed quite a case of acne on our shoulders, arms, chest, and back. The other two family members only used the badger product for a couple of days before switching to another brand - they were spared the breakouts.

              Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
