The enclosure of the foot and secure fit are good.
But they do require breaking in and the seams on the inside of the big toe hurt.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers TrekSport Multisport Shoes - Women's:
I have been wearing Vibrams for over three years. This pair stretched more than any other style/pair I've worn in the past. They stretched to the point that I now get a blister on one of my heels because I have to tigthen the strap so much, it creates a pressure point. I would absolutely recommend buying a size lower than your normal Vibram size. Even with the strap around the back, they still feel too loose. I have normal width feet and these feel very loose.

I live on a mountainous Caribbean island (someone has to do it!) and was eyeing these for hiking on the mostly soft ground that is usually wet and often involves stream crossing/hiking. I'd been hiking in my Keens and kept getting small rocks/sticks inside. These are fabulous: good traction, no pain even without break-in, no dirt inside, great in water/rain and no problems on cement or rocks. My only complaint is that I still (after 4-5 hikes) have to fit each toe separately...no big deal.

I bought these for the first time 2009. I just bought my 3rd pair. It took me a good 3 months to become a sore free barefoot runner. Only because I didn't alternate, and you should if you've never done the barefoot running. I absoulutely LOVE my Vibrams! I am now running without knee pain. NO pain at all. My speed has increased from 10min miles to 6 min miles. I just ran my 3rd Chicago Marathon in them; due to the fact that last yrs Marathon I cramped up from my feet VERY bad (I was too chicken to run in Vibrams) and I was cramp free on this last marathon! I totally recommend these to anyone. Also, read "Born to Run", by Christopher McDaugall. You will be convinced that we are meant to run barefoot w/o all that support Sh*#t. That's all bs. Aside from the calluses and blisters (who cares)I dont have ANY other Cons. Good Luck on your barefoot run journey!

I have been wearing VFFs for about 4 years and love them. I bought these because I wanted to do more trail running, and need a bit more traction than my bikilas offered. The first time I wore them I got huge blisters on both feet from the stiff sole. The big-toe-knuckle-protector part is the biggest culprit. I ran five times in them, getting new blisters each time, and finally gave up. They also started to fall apart at the seams where the soft upper attaches to the sole. Not good...

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers TrekSport Multisport Shoes - Women's:
I had a pair of the original leather KSOs for close to five years and loved them, ran cross country in them, hiked in them. A seam on the top finally opened up and my efforts to repair it failed, and the open seam rubbed my skin raw.
So new shoes. These seem true to size (measured for a 39, which is what I wear in the other vibrams), and they fit great. This model is very easy-on in comparison to some models, just slide them on. They are not water proof at all but dry very quickly- they are excellent for running in the rain in warm weather because you don't even notice your feet are wet as you splash through the puddles, and they dry almost instantly. Good traction. My only complaint is they don't seem terribly durable- I bought two pairs on sale last spring and have been wearing one of them almost daily, and after only about 6 months of use a large hole opened up on the side of the big toe on the right foot. It's still usable but it's only a matter of time until it enlarges too much for the shoe to be wearable.
In general these are my favorite of the Vibrams I've tried out, and I actually now have several "reserve" unused pairs I collected when they went on sale- waiting to be used as the others wear out.
Which is my only gripe with the shoe- it was disappointing how quickly the material developed a hole. I hope it was a unique feature of that one pair and won't happen with the other pairs.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers TrekSport Multisport Shoes - Women's:
I have some problems with hiking boots as I have a wider toe box and a narrow last so I am forever pounding my toes into the front of my boots and giving myself black toe and worse. I bought these as a last ditch effort when insoles failed me and I LOVE them except that the quality is rediculously low. They do solve most of my toe issues (besides some bad stubbs) but the first pair I bought ripped the first time out. Sent them back for a replacement and now with under 50 miles on the new pair in gentle terrain (hiking with a puppy this year, no huge hikes for me) one is pulling apart at the seams where the mesh "arch" fabric meets the toe fabric. This is unacceptable and really does not make this a desirable shoe at all. I also find traction on any surface which is even a shade damp is horrendous. They are find for dry surfaces but how often do we get a hike when it is completely dry?
I am trying to mend the pair I have now and torn about what to do. I like the shoe, but I cannot replace them every two months due to shoddy workmanship and poor quality. What happened to Vibram?

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers TrekSport Multisport Shoes - Women's:
I ordered these to replace my beloved 2 year old Bikilas. I ran in those for many miles with no problems. My first run out in these, and I could barely limp home. They rubbed along the inside arch (where a stabilizing? strip runs to the heel). I ended up with several spots rubbed completely raw, and 2 blood blisters.
These do not fit like the Bikila. The stabilizing strip running from the velcro strap to the heel pushed my feet forward so they bumped against the front of the shoe. That same strip caused too much movement, even when tightened, leading to my blisters.
I am taking these back today to try the Bikila LS. I was hoping these would work, because I wanted a thicker, more protective sole, but the blisters are not worth it.

I recently got to test these badboys on a family vacation. Our activities included hiking, kayaking, and some bouldering in water areas..
As far as the shoe holding up with rocks its pretty good.. add a little water and not so much. Lots of slipping so if your looking for an all around shoe I dont know if I would recommend. Also the area we kayaked was around a lagoon/beach the sand and water combo got all in the shoe making it a little bit uncomfortable, but thats not an issue for me.. I wouldn't normally wear shoes to those things but I did to "test it out."
As far as roadtripping in this specific shoe it was comfortable to an extent.. After a day and a half of traveling on busses/trains my ankles were swollen (but that is expected of closed shoes prolong use). Needless to say I have bought a pair of sprints for all around everyday use.
Sizing: this part was crucial for me. I have a shorter wider foot than most so my shoe size can range from 8.5 - 9.5. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going in to try a pair on. I ended up being a 41 ( I got mine slightly larger) I have a dominant second toe and I didn't like the feeling of it so close to my toe.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers TrekSport Multisport Shoes - Women's:
This is the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn by far. It felt funny the first hour but now it feels so natural that I sometimes forget that I have them on. Nowadays I prefer my Fivefingers over all other shoes, slippers, sneakers, flip-flops, even barefoot. Both my wife and I have two pairs each - one for outdoor walking/running and one for indoor to keep feet warm. They are just wonderful!
Service and delivery comments:
We found that REI is the best place to get these. The team member who helped us was very knowledgeable -- he was actually wearing a pair of Fivefingers at the time. He really helped us pick the correct size, i.e., go one-size larger if you big toe touches the tip. This turned out to be really good advise as I started wearing them all day.
