I've snowshoed many times in these and loved them--always kept me warm and dry--but the true test was whether they would hold up to a trip to Aconcagua last Dec. I wore these from basecamp to the summit and they didn't let me down..Great fit, adjustable, I like the built in gaiters, and they are really tough! Warm without being too bulky and I love the pockets as well..I wore them over a pair of smartwool baselayer and REI fleece pants and was plenty warm in really frigid conditions. Unfortunately I slipped a few times on the way down from the summit and as we were wearing crampons I tore a few holes in the pants above the knee where it doesn't have the extra protection for crampons.. :-( I'll use my rebate this year to get another pair as I absolutely love these pants!!

These pants are comfy to wear, have lots of pockets, and are pretty breathable. I wore them a few weeks ago in an absolutely drenching rainstorm and was completely dry. However, they are heavy and warm. Best to use these in the winter - get a lighter pair for summer use.

I got them for the full side zip capability which works pretty well.

I've only had these pants for a short time. I have used them for skiing in various conditions. These pants have sloughed off some serious nasty conditions with ease. I'm impressed by how light/compressable they are yet they are very tough. I know these are more money than many people want to spend but they are a nice investment.

Purchased these last year as a shell layer for backcountry skiing and mountaineering. The eVent fabric breathes very well and the side-zips allow for more ventilation when necessary. Pockets are very roomy and the zippers are great. Overall, I really wanted to love these pants. But unfortunately, they just don't cut it when it comes to wet, Pacific Northwest conditions. The first few times I had the pants out storm skiing, they did great and I did not have any issues with snow soaking through the eVent membrane. I washed the pants every time I used them to restore the water-resistant properties. Unfortunately, over time the water-resistance has worn down to almost zero, and over the weekend on a wet snowshoeing trip I ended up completely soaked from the waist down. Now that I read the fine-print, it seems the pants are not marketed as water-proof. It looks like I'll need to upgrade to a full 3-layer waterproof Goretex shell to achieve the kind of protection from the elements that I need from my shell layer.

I bought these to replace an older pair that was lost. I used these while alpine skiing, in temp.s ranging from about 10 deg. F to about 35 deg. F, in Dec. '11 and Jan. '12. They felt warm [with med. weight long underwear] and "just right". The full-side-zippers are great -- they open-up and allow cooling when going inside for lunch & snack breaks. The belt loops allowed me to use a belt instead of suspenders -- 'very convenient, in my opinion! They blocked the wind, and apparently kept out snow/water. Plus, they look good & masculine -- and I'm not a "fashion-hound". The pockets were suitable in quantity, size, and location, for storing various things! I'd strongly recommend them to friends & family.

Great fit great features great quality material. I have never been this impressed and happy with a pair of ski pants. Got caught in the rain yesterday on the slopes and the pants were GREAT!!!!! Dry, comfy, great range of motion. great big cargo pockets.

Only request to the REI team is to make them with suspenders or include adaptations for suspenders.
