Comments about REI Down Jacket - Toddler Girls':
We bought this jacket for our daughter last year and it worked so well that we bought it again for her this season. In fact, we could have kept using the old one but she grew out of it. It washes easy. She is not super hard on clothes, but she does play outside in it every day and we've had no issues with wear and tear. Looks the same as when we bought it. Price is right compared to other brand names. She also has a Patagonia down vest and I can't tell any difference in quality, just price.

Comments about REI Down Jacket - Toddler Girls':
This jacket is very warm and super stylie! We got the eggplant color, which I think is a deeper purple than it appears online. It fits well. The zipper doesn't bite my daughter's chin and the collar is the perfect size (warm & protective without being too tight or uncomfortable). The hand pockets are extra comfy with a very soft lining and no zippers. I think this jacket could use an extra pocket with a zipper or snap closure (on the chest or arm maybe) to stash a few tissues, etc. A hood would be nice, too, like I've seen on the reversible Patagonia baby jackets. This jacket seems thin, until my daughter is wearing it and she looks all puffed up! However, I don't think it is too bulky to leave on her while she's in her carseat. I've even had her successfully try it on with a shell (paper-thin waterproof jacket) over it, in case we need to add a truly waterproof layer on a cold wet day. The only problem I have with this jacket is that the elastic cuffs do not stretch open very wide, making it extremely difficult to pull the sleeves on over wintersport mittens (we use the REI Gauntlet Mittens, which are no thicker than most snow mittens). This is not a problem with thin mittens, such as fleece or knit. At the same time, it is nice that the cuffs aren't gaping open to let the cold in. We love this jacket, but if we can find a different one with more accommodating cuffs, we will exchange it.

My mother bought this coat for my 2-year-old daughter after I told her I was eying the similar Patagonia one. Although it is a cute jacket, the sleeve lining comes out with my daughter's hands when she puts it on, so I have to shove it back up into the sleeves. After just two weeks of occasional wear, it looks and feels like it is 10 years old.

Comments about REI Down Jacket - Toddler Girls':
We bought this jacket for our daughter since she did not like the bulky winter jacket she had been given as a gift. She loves this jacket! It is warm but still lightweight enough that she is comfortable running and playing. She wears it everyday, and it has held up really well to heavy daily use. It is also a great value when compared to pricier North Face or Patagonia options.

Comments about REI Down Jacket - Toddler Girls':
We loved this jacket for the first couple of weeks. It is toasty warm and functional. However, in a little over a month, we noticed 3 big problems that prompted us to return the jacket. 1) the zipper broke (it would close, but would also open from the bottom up all by itself while child was sitting, bending over, or playing). 2) the fabric was not easily washable - what I mean by this is that the bottom of the jacket, the neck area as well as the sleeve cuffs were stained for life (from normal wear, nothing crazy here). No matter how many times we washed the jacket, those areas would not come out clean. 3) the fabric is very cheap and it frayed in several areas (again, from normal wear of a 2 yr old girl). Thank goodness for REI's great return policy because this jacket lasted less than 2 months. We were willing to exchange it (hoping we just got a defective jacket) but they didn't have my daughter's size at the store, so we went with a Columbia jacket. Patagonia has worked really well for her in the past as well. It's too bad this REI jacket was so cheaply made because it fit well and was toasty. Hopefully they'll use better fabric and zippers for next year's model.

I really like this jacket. It is nice and warm and my LO does not mind wearing it. The one con is that it can be a little bulky for car seat straps.

Just logged on buy another. Jacket was worn daily to school, survived the worst Cleveland winter in recent years, and still looks new and functions perfectly despite weekly washings (facial condition, don't ask!). The only downside is that it does not magically grow with my kiddo.
