Comments about Patagonia Capilene 3 Zip-T Shirt - Men's:
I have worn Capilene for years. I have Capilene snap-t's older than my 24 year old nieces... I have been trying to replace some of my 5-10 year old capilene base layers (expedition weight and medium weights with the new versions and have been disappointed. Yes, it does what it is designed for, but the feel on my skin is miserable. Particularly in winter when our skin is dry, the material pulls and grabs at my hands and arms. Not soft or pleasant at all. Until the material changes I won't buy anymore (after buying 3 in the last year) and I will be getting rid of what I have. I'm going to try the "R" series as they seem softer and don't have the "grabby" feeling of the capilene.
Been a huge fan for many years, but not now.

Comments about Patagonia Capilene 3 Zip-T Shirt - Men's:
I now own two of these shirts. I've found them to be a perfect 'it's slightly cold outside' piece to put on over a t-shirt. Very comfy. Dries quick (be it from sweat or rain). I don't know how practical this would be in the very cold. It would have to be for a very anaerobic activity, as it's pretty thin.

Comments about Patagonia Capilene 3 Zip-T Shirt - Men's:
This 3 and my capiline 4 are my favorite all around go to base layers to use when cycling in the cold windy weather. They regulate my body temperature perfectly when I'm sweating, (I sweat alot), they disparate the water perfectly off my skin and keep me dry, and when I'm off the bike for a rest stop, they keep my body heat in which is the most comfortable feeling. They are both very light weight and their warmth to weight is perfect espcially when moving weight around. I am 60 years old and for me the capilines work perfectly by providing that special layer between the skin and the jacket. I tried on other competitors base layers and jackets but the capilines have excellent zippers that never give me a problem and the smooth fit is excellent fitting to go on and off quickly and carry no order to them. I always wear them when I go out in cold weather to the store or around town and wear a light jacket over to stop the wind. The capilines are soo comfortable that I never want to take them off,

Comments about Patagonia Capilene 3 Zip-T Shirt - Men's:
While some companies have gone to cheaper fabrics or smaller dimensions, Patagonia has improved this product over the older versions with longer sleeves and tails. The fabric is softer than wool alternatives. Wicks better and dries quicker than some cycling specific brands. Perfect as a base layer for cool weather hikes or more aerobic activities.

Comments about Patagonia Capilene 3 Zip-T Shirt - Men's:
The Capilene 3 is one of the most versatile and important pieces of clothing that one can have for lightweight backpacking. It can be worn with or without a t-shirt, as a single or mid-layer, or underneath successive layers in cold weather, and they look good enough to wear out. After a long backpack this will be by far the least-funky-smelling thing in your pack. They can withstand the abuse of any kamikaze trek, even taking the abrasions of asphalt during a bike crash. A pair of these in my pack on a 6 month europe tour were the only things I didn't wear out, and were pretty much the only things I wore. I would never go on a trip without one.

Comments about Patagonia Capilene 3 Zip-T Shirt - Men's:
When zipped, the stiff, snug zipper is uncomfortably snug against my adam's apple. Contrary to Description, the zipper is NOT backed by a draft flap and lacks a zipper garage. Just take a look at the photo of the model wearing it.

Comments about Patagonia Capilene 3 Zip-T Shirt - Men's:
I love this item. It fits me perfectly(I bought a medium, I'm 5'10"). It keeps me warm on the crag during the winter (20's-30's) with a light jacket on. I can shed the jacket and climb with this item on and be comfortable. Sweat dries fast. Beware though, this item retains odors.

Comments about Patagonia Capilene 3 Zip-T Shirt - Men's:
I love the cut of this shirt. I'm about 6'3" 195 lbs and i bought a medium, which fits great around the torso, but the arms could probably be another half inch longer to be perfect. So far I've only taken it on day hikes, but I hit Old Rag Mountain in ~60 degree temps and it was a bit warm for the occasion. My only knock is it does retain odors quite a bit, but I think thats pretty standard for poly, so I'm ready to stink when it comes to i
