Slicing through winds at high speeds, the Novara Headwind women's soft-shell bike jacket blocks wind and resists water, making it ideal for a mixed bag of riding weather.

Panels on front and sleeves are windproof up to 35 mph—great for fast descents
Lightweight, breathable stretch panels on back of arms and shoulders allow easy movement and let excess heat escape

Great fit for someone who does not have the typical cyclist physique. Most cycle wear is for very thin athletes not 50 something's! This jacket fits well, looks great, is warm and well made. A little pricey, but most cycle gear is.

This product is amazing! I wish it was a bit warmer though for the longer bike rides when it's cold and super windy. However, I wore it with a light track jacket on a really cold morning ride and it did the trick. I want another one! I recommend it :-)

The reviews on this jacket are a pretty good barometer for how the jacket feels and functions. The only thing that surprised me is that I thought it would be more windproof - today I commuted with my bike in 35 degrees with a 10 mph wind, and I felt as though the wind was coming through the jacket. But I do think I was expecting too much in that category.

On the other hand, I was perfect in slightly warmer weather, because it breathed so well. I never felt as though I got clammy under the jacket when I rode in 40-60 degree weather.

Otherwise, this jacket really shines. The hood is perfect for under the helmet, and it cinches so that no wind gets behind my neck. The sleeves are long enough to tuck into my gloves, and the back is long enough to not let air come sliding up the back. The pockets are roomy enough for my phone, keys, and wallet (but all those make me look back-pregnant).

Like the other person said, I wear this around my home when I'm too cheap to turn up the heat. It's comfortable.

Bought this after multiple attempts at multi-layering for the cold WI weather commute. Longsleeved wool jersey by itself was only good down to 40 degrees. Winter coat was too warm and had me sweating after a mile. Have been riding 7.5 miles a day, with temps varying from 16 degrees to 35 degrees (not including wind chill). This jacket hits the spot for the entire cold weather range. Layer it over the top of a wool jersey for extra comfort. Front panel is windproof and is snug around the neck to keep wind out. Breathable back panel to keep you from overheating. Sleeves are longer than normal, but provide adequate coverage with arms extended on the bike. Zipper pulls are easy to grab with gloves on. Was also able to test it on a snowy ride - water resistant for at least 25 minutes, probably longer. If you are tempted to commute in the winter but can't figure out what to wear, this jacket plus the Novara headwind pants make a great pair. Two thumbs up!

This jacket allows me to ride no matter how cold it is. For chilly weather I'll wear a jersey underneath, for cold weather a wicking longsleeve shirt. It really blocks the wind without any added bulk.

This jacket is fun & cute, but not as functional as expected ... front pockets need zips to safeguard keys that I don't want in back mesh pocket ... front zipper needs placket & reverse zipper would be welcome .... cold and wind penetrate on a 30 degree day with only 10 mph wind ...

I bought this jacket on a whim because I liked the look. I love it. I've tested it in a moderate rain and the water rolls right off. It's lightweight and fits like a glove so it's extremely comfortable. I find myself pulling it on around the house rather than a hoodie. So far (after 2 washings) it's been waterproof and windproof in moderate rain and wind. Blocked the wind on my bike as well as walking around town. Since it's a cycling jacket, it has two zip-up pockets in the back; one large, one small. Awesome for holding wallet, checkbook, phone while on errands.
I definitely recommend this jacket to anyone looking for an all around jacket.
