by fromNeeds tiny phillips screwdriver Works fine for my daughter, who isn't old enough to be picky about headlamps. When I went to change the battery, I couldn't open it because it requires a tiny phillips screw driver, which I don't have. What a pain. Will return it and get a real head lamp.

by fromBlack Diamond Wiz I was looking for a cheap, compact headlamp to carry in a pocket for work. It's a basic headlamp for a fair price. I actually didn't notice the little "safety screw" thing until I got it home. Like most people I know, I usually don't carry a mini-phillips screwdriver with me. I am probably going to leave it "unlocked" by not tightening the screw. It will stay together regardless. Special note; the included screwdriver will probably have the tip end in the handle (so pull out and reverse ends). Will keep since returns for me are a hassle. But next time would probably go for the next model up?

by fromDidn't know this was for kids The light works and fits easily on my head. Only problem is to take out the batteries, you need a tiny screwdriver (not useful if you are in the middle of a hike)

by fromNot Just For Kids What started as a gift for our 2 yr. old has become a family favorite. It stays put, is very comfortable, and puts out nice light for such a little lamp. The older members of our family have more powerful lamps, but we end up using this one all the time because it's so small and slips easily into a pocket. It's also perfect for reading because it's very light and comfortable for extended use. We live and camp in the heart of bear country and it's important to have decent light for middle of the night trips to the restroom and this little lamp does great. It does require a mini screwdriver (which anyone who has kids or wears glasses already has) but it's not a downside at all compared to how handy it is!! We actually just ordered a couple of extra so that our 2 yr old can have his back. Great find! Thank you Grandma and Papa!

by fromGreat headlamp I bought two of these, one for my 5 yr old nephew and another one for my 2 1/2 yr old niece. They love them! I am looking into introducing them both into camping this summer, and these headlamps have gotten them really interested in going... Only downside to these is the tiny little screwdriver that you need to open the battery compartment. As long as you put it in a safe place where you'll remember where it is, it will be fine.

by fromMy 3 grandsons love their headlamps. I bought 2 Wiz headlamps for my 8 year old grandsons when they were 5. They still play with them. They especially like to run around in the dark on summer evenings. The head lamps have performed with no problems at all. Their 2 year old brother just got his Wiz headlamp and he is thrilled, He wears it around the house to be like his older brothers.

by fromLove this little headlamp... My boys love this headlamp. We have been the proud owners for a few years now...very sturdy. Wonderful bright light, and adjustable for their heads. They love wearing them in bed at night to read. It's also nice that the battery is not one of the button-cell types (expensive to replace), just 2 AAA batteries. And for all those reviews complaining about the small screw...how great that Black Diamond includes a small screw driver!!!! LOVE LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!

by fromstopped working on first campout I bought this headlamp for my son to use on Boy Scout campouts. As a rule of thumb, I seek out the least expensive products to send out with him, especially flashlights, etc. as they are commonly lost. I installed the batteries without any problem. Apparently, on the second night, the headlamp stopped working. He said that he was using it and the light went out. He and I both assumed that the battery died. I replaced them and found that the unit had, in fact, stopped working. I have owned other black diamond products and they have served me well, however, I would not recommend this unit based on my experience.
