Comments about Keen Toyah Shoes - Women's:
I am on my feet for 8-9 hours a day on concrete. I have tried the most expensive tennis shoes, latest technology(expensive insoles), and many other types of shoes for my job. My friend worked at Starbucks and said these were the only shoes that worked for her. So I gave them a try and I am SOLD!!! Best shoes I have ever worn on concrete...I'm not sure why they work but they do...lol. THANK YOU KEEN!

Bought these for a trip to Italy, and I have very sensitive feet. They were overall very comfortable for the ton of walking we did. Only problems were the top around the ankles rubbed my skin raw in a couple spots on the outside, and standing was still uncomfortable. They are a little wobbly on uneven terrain, but not too bad. i like the wide toe box and acceptable weight of the shoe, and the simple understated styling provides versatility.

I wear these shoes every day and I love them, but the first week or so I had to wear a bandage on my heels to prevent rubbing - the heel ridge is quite tight.

This is my first pair of Keen shoes. I needed a pair of black shoes that were sturdier than my black flats and that looked good with pants/jeans. They are very comfortable and make great winter shoes. I'm sure I will wear them in many seasons to come. The slight extra width that Keen provides enables me to wear thicker warm socks without tightness. I feel like I am treating my feet well with these shoes. Kudos to REI for stocking size 10.5 - not an easy size to find in shoe stores!

Comments about Keen Toyah Shoes - Women's:
The one little annoyance has to do with the stiffness of the tongue. The first day I wore these, the tongue, which comes up pretty high on the top of the foot, was so stiff and inflexible that my feet were swollen in that area by the end of the day. I loosened the laces to the second notch and if felt much better. I am hoping with wear the tongue will loosen enough to be able to lace the shoes to the top again.

I was looking for plain, casual shoes for the cooler months in Arizona, and these shoes are the perfect ones. I love the way they feel. They have plenty of cushioning, but don't feel bulky. The style is simple and goes with anything. I typically wear an 8.5, but when I tried them on they were a bit snug (in length), so I got a 9. They were slightly stiff for the first week, but now they are some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned.

Comments about Keen Toyah Shoes - Women's:
I've been wearing these just over a month now. Have to admit, although they were comfortable right out of the box, they did require a couple of weeks of leather break-in before they felt just perfect. I can wear these for days! With other shoes I couldn't wait to kick them off as soon as I got home. I don't feel that way with these. I would love if they were slip-on's, but all things considered, they're worth the trouble of having to lace up. In fact, when my feet and ankles swell up at the end of the day, it's nice to have a way to adjust the fit and just loosen the ties. I love that Keens run wide because it's hard to find "wide" shoes that are actually that. Many that say wide, are still too narrow.
I noticed that older reviews say the "slate black is really brown". I'm not sure what earlier versions of this shoe looked like, but the current "black" color really is black. In fact, I ordered a second pair which looks dark black; my first pair has a softer grayish colored sheen to the black, but still looks black.
