The North Face Denali Fleece Jacket - Men's
The North Face Denali men's jacket is a straightforward, comfortable, all-around fleece for winter climates. Wear it as a mid layer or outer layer, depending on conditions.
- Polartec® 300 Series fleece (87% recycled content in the solid colors and 65% in the heathered) is warm, lightweight and compressible
- Abrasion-resistant, laundered 2-ply nylon (also recycled) on upper body and elbows provides reinforcement and durability
- Durable Water Repellent finish fends off light rain showers and snow
- Pit zippers provide ventilation to help keep your body temperature regulated
- Elastic-bound cuffs and hem drawcord
- Features zippered hand pockets and both Napoleon and horizontal chest pockets
- Standard fit provides easy layering
- Wear the Denali jacket on its own or zipped into complementing parkas from The North Face

Purchased this as an insulating layer to use with one of my North Face shells because it's the warmest zip-in compatible option in fleece. For that purpose it works well. When I go hunting, the Denali with my shell over it keeps me toasty. (I use a NF Khumbu with another shell. It's the same weight fleece and also zip in compatible, the main difference is the nylon panels on the Denali)
There are occaisions when I do wear it by itself, such as in my sleeping bag on really cold nights or at work in the morning before the building warms up.
As many reviewers have mentioned, it's not windproof. It doesn't claim to be. If you want a wind proof jacket, look for one which advertises that as a feature. Yes, there are better options for a stand alone jacket. However if you're looking for a warm fleece that's zip in compatible with North Face shells this is a good choice.
Would I reccomend this to a friend? Depends on what they want to use it for.

Bought this for the hubby and he wears it every day! He's not a fan of bulky jackets, so this lightweight but very warm sweatshirty jacket is perfect for him. He rides his motorcycle year round and he says this keeps him quite warm. It fits well and looks great on him too!

Bought this to replace one that got lost. Use it for camping and any time it's cool. Often wear it under a rain jacket. The only complaint is that it tends attract dog hair. Some of my polar tech products don't attract dog hair.

This jacket should not be worn in temperatures below 40 Degrees. Also, it is not windproof. Moderate wind goes through the fleece sleeves, making it necessary to wear a long sleeve shirt under the jacket.

hello i live in tacoma WA i bought the denali fleece originally because it looked nice and i asked somebody they said it was super warm too i took it caming early september brought that as my jacket very disappointed with the results was not warm not windproof felt hot in the store but outside not so much i have had tons of northface products this one well made comfortable and looks nice zipped into a shell works amazing just recommend using only as a zip in

The denali is a great jacket if there is no wind. If you plan on wearing it in your car or in a building it keeps you warm. If you wear it outside it doesn't do much for you unless you have a windproof shell to put over it. It works well for day to day use but I would never bring it on extended backpacking trips. It is much too bulky to carry on my back for any extended trips.
