I NEED coffee atleast twice a day. Dragging along a perk pot, grinds, etc. for a good cup of coffee on a backpacking trip is not an option. However,this instant coffee is the real deal - I challange anyone to tell this from real perked coffee. You will not be disappointed with this product.

OK, this is not like good espresso. I roast my own coffee and do a pretty good espresso, and this coffee is not as good as that.
BUT, it is INSTANT coffee, and it weighs virtually nothing.
If you are going backpacking and you're currently using other instant coffee, or even those awful little coffee bags, give this a try. It is by far the best instant coffee I've ever had by a good margin and I'm somewhat of a coffee snob.

I bought this yesterday for an upcoming camping trip to North Rim and wanted to try it out before stocking up. I used one packet so far and I will say this I will be buying a few more for my trip, it tastes great, no preperation at all , just add hot water let stand for a minute and stir and drink feels like you have a Starbucks in the wilderness way to go !!!!!

My husband and I live in Bolivia and the best instant coffee we can get here is Nescafe, which is pretty gross. We received Via as a gift and it is one of the best presents we've gotten here. Via would be a great gift for friends or family that are travelling or who are expats. Also, we normally use a french press, so we drink our real coffee as soon as we brew it or else it gets cold. When we want a cup later in the day now we have the option of making instant coffee. So, it would also be a good present for people with a french press.
No, it's not as good as real, brewed coffee, but it's the best of the instant variety that you're going to find.

As a backpacker, we often sacrafice flavor for weight, and coffee is often left at home - unless you're me and end up packing the grounds with the rest of the trash back out with you (extra weight)!
Well, now this GREAT product comes around and now everyone who enjoys a nice warm (or cold) cup-o-love can do so - instantly!!
To get all 5 stars it would have to be as good as freshly ground and brewed - so there you go Starbucks, a little project for you!!
For additional weight savings: open all the packets you wanna bring with you and dump em all in a zip lock bag!

Best backpacking coffee I have had. Light weight no used coffee grounds to pack out. Just empty pack into hot water little mixing and enjoy. I use a jet boil cooking system so I go from wake up to hot cup of Joe in like 1 min.
