As a backpacker, we often sacrafice flavor for weight, and coffee is often left at home - unless you're me and end up packing the grounds with the rest of the trash back out with you (extra weight)!
Well, now this GREAT product comes around and now everyone who enjoys a nice warm (or cold) cup-o-love can do so - instantly!!
To get all 5 stars it would have to be as good as freshly ground and brewed - so there you go Starbucks, a little project for you!!
For additional weight savings: open all the packets you wanna bring with you and dump em all in a zip lock bag!

Best backpacking coffee I have had. Light weight no used coffee grounds to pack out. Just empty pack into hot water little mixing and enjoy. I use a jet boil cooking system so I go from wake up to hot cup of Joe in like 1 min.

I like to mix this in cold stream water while hiking. I shake it up and drink it black on the trail. It mixes pretty easily. It is almost ice coffee. I love this stuff. Puts all other instant coffees to shame. At home it is great made super duper strong with cream and sugar (doubleshot on steroids) :)

I think the Italian roast tastes like an old pot of coffee that has been on the warmer too long and is burnt. But is was quality coffee that was burnt, so it tastes much better than other instant brews. The ease of use more than makes up for any loss of flavor. We travel and backpack quite regularly and it is very nice to have a package of this stashed as an emergency supply when we land somewhere that thinks coffee is milk and sugar with some brown coloring.

I have been using starbucks via brew for about 3 weeks now... I love this stuff. I'm not going to go and say it is as good as a freshly brewed pot, but it is mighty close. Oh, and the user who said to mix it with a pack of hot chocolate, excellent idea. Just tried it and it was quite good. I added about a half a packet of splenda to mine for a little extra sweetness. Great idea!

I love these! Its a microbrew so you don't run the risk of it leaking which I've had happen with the Java packets. It also dissolves very easily in hot water so you don't have a bunch of grounds floating around or mush left over at the bottom. It tastes great! Like a real cup of perfect Starbucks Coffee. 1 packet for 8 ounces of water and you can't go wrong. I take these everywhere with me and use them every day, not just while camping. Its about time we got a decent cup of instant coffee!

OK, this is not like good espresso. I roast my own coffee and do a pretty good espresso, and this coffee is not as good as that.
BUT, it is INSTANT coffee, and it weighs virtually nothing.
If you are going backpacking and you're currently using other instant coffee, or even those awful little coffee bags, give this a try. It is by far the best instant coffee I've ever had by a good margin and I'm somewhat of a coffee snob.
