          After seeing the larger version of this get all scratched up in our gear box, we now store these in a cheap can coozie - it's a perfect fit. The wine glass brings a touch of class to the campsite, rather than drinking from a Dixie cup. Then as a bonus, we learned that this wine glass stays perfectly balanced while floating on a calm lake,thanks to the ballast of the stem & foot. It actually floats without tipping over and wasting wine!

          Great-looking at first puchase, they'll quickly lose their luster and become scratched and foggy unless you're willing to baby them. And let's face life, we're going backpacking! Cracking and breakage have not been a problem but mine certainly got scratched up quickly, just from riding up in my backpack. Yes, I packed 'em in the clothes and the clothes managed to scratch 'em. But even so, if you're not into the awesomely outdoorsy feel of drinking wine from a Sierra Club Cup, or you want a little candlelight dinner at the top of a mountain, you'll like these - they're cheap enough and they're good usable wine glasses. Just factor a short life into your decision as to whether they're worth the cost.

              These are an updated version of GSI's wine glasses and I think they are awesome. This new style actually looks like a real, nice wine glass and would fool anyone on a dining room table. The old version looked kinda like a odd shaped '80's chalice or something, although functions well. I have packed these many many times in all types of gear packs and never had a problem with breaking. Like many other things, you need to just take care of your -stuff-

                  I had previously purchased nesting wine glasses from REI and they were really sturdy. These are great for camping. I was expecting the same quality and these are much less sturdy and I worry they will crack when carried in a duffle bag because the bowl of the wineglass seems to be flexible. The fit of the stem part in the bowl is not tight and pops out easily so the bowl may get smashed.
