These shoes are really silly looking, but they feel so good! They are very light and it's like being barefoot but without having to worry about sharp things underfoot.

They are best on grass and pine duff, good on smooth rocks and pavement, and a bit painful on large-sized gravel.

One thing to be aware of is that they take a bit of break-in time; your calves will be really sore the first week or so, so take it easy until you build up your muscles.

Getting your toes into the pockets is tricky, but gets better over time. The only thing that doesn't fit quite right is that the heel's a bit high in back for me, but that seems to be more my problem than the shoe's.

These shoes are so comfortable, like going barefoot. They will work your calves for the first few days and it will take some work to get the toes in but after about two weeks, the shoes will break in and the toes will get how to get them on. I was able to increase joint ROM and flexibility in two toes I have broken several times so that was an unexpected bonus. I wear them for 10+ hours a day in a gym and work out in them. They are awesome - I highly recommend these shoes!

    I converted after reading the recent science showing how our feet don't need to be coddled and cushioned, and need contact with the ground and a proper running stride to build foot strength. Well, let me tell you one extra-amazing thing these shoes did for me. Apart from feeling fun, free and oh-so-good on my feet, they forced my running posture into an upright and engaged frame. And this created an incredible workout for my gluteus muscles. Yes, that's right, my butt got firmer, higher, and tighter. Who knew the shoes would do something so wonderful? Thanks Vibram Fivefingers, for taking 10 years off my butt!

      I wear these shoes everywhere! You get the feeling of being barefoot, only with a little added protection under your foot. Very comfortable. It does take a little time to get used to putting them on, but once they're on it's like heaven! Expect lots of questions and comments from others about them! These are great shoes. I've only had them a short time, but already considering another pair!

      Running with these is amazing but take it slow at first. I was running up to 15 miles with regular running shoes and started with these at mile 1, doing 1/4 mile intervals (walk - run) on tracks and treadmills and doing lots of stretching. Your calfs will be sore but you'll gain the strength after a couple of weeks. Increase interval distance and speed according to what your body tells you. Running feels so natural I can't wait to hit the trails!

      At only 30 years old I often get comments from doctors and lay persons alike about my feet. It usually goes something like this: These are the worst bunions I've seen on someone your age. The pain had finally gotten to the point where I really needed to just suck it up and have the surgery. These shoes were a last-ditch effort. Let's face it, you might actually have to be in total agony to consider wearing these, as I find them HIDEOUS to look at. I think my first reaction to them was "creepy."
      At this point I am a total believer. After having them on for only a couple days I noticed my toes not only hurting less, but actually appearing to straighten out. I don't know if this is a placebo effect or for real, but my bones might actually be straightening out. CRAZY. My only complaint is that I live in snowland and want a pair that I can wear in the subzero temps. Next winter I plan to get the neoprene pair; as time goes by, if my satisfaction continues with these I'll probably get a pair in every style!

      Very comfortable shoes. The only difficulty is getting past having to separate out all your toes to make them fit in the shoe. It takes some getting used to, but it feels like you're walking everywhere barefoot. I'm an avid walker - and I really enjoy wearing these.

      I read about them in Runner's Magazine. The best part is the attention you cause, everyone wants to know about them. I have a feeling that they will be used for all sorts of things...best part no slipping on rocks as your feet can grip at the tidepools.
