Comments about Therm-a-Rest Luxury Map Sleeping Pad:
I do alot of car camping and have always used a military issued foam pad to sleep on. I wish I knew about sleeping pads earlier. To be honest, using it makes me feel guilty but the comfort it provides is unsurpassed. I got the large size and the length is perfect in my REI mnt3 tent. I used it on a trip this past weekend when temperatures got down to 30 and coupled with my sleeping bag, I was toasty in no time at all. The cushioning is superb and I like how I can adjust the firmness of the pad. I've always had problems with condensation on the bottom of my foam pads but I didn't see any with this pad. My friend who was with me who used a foam typed pad did have moisture buildup on her pad and her sleeping bag underside was evidently damp. I didn't roll off the pad and my sleeping bag did not slide off but I don't think I would have minded a wider size. I'm about 5'3 and fairly fit if that gives you a pad to person ratio on size. If you have the space for it in your tent don't economize-just get the largest size available. Inflating is a cinch and deflating is not difficult. It fits quite easily into the bag provided. It is rather large if you are back packing so would not recommend it for that use. Overall, great product so far. I can't comment on durability since I've only used it a handful of times. Hope it lasts.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Luxury Map Sleeping Pad:
I have used a Thermarest Basecamp XL and a Thermarest Dreamtime XL and liked them a lot. So I decided to try this latest model.
I bought a Luxurymap XL and found it to be really uncomfortable. It felt like there was less padding under my hips and shoulders. Those are places I need more padding, not less. As a result, it felt like I was sleeping on the ground, with no support.
All Thermarest mattresses seem to be good-quality, well-made products. I just don't like the design of this one. Maybe it works well for very thin people.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Luxury Map Sleeping Pad:
I use for short backpack trips, campgrounds and traveling in general. The best air mat I have ever used in over 30 years of outdoor sleeping. Even the dog slept all night on the mat.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Luxury Map Sleeping Pad:
I bought this to be my main bed. I'm remodeling my house while living in it and just have the bare minimum for furniture. I use this on an army cot. The first few nights I'd wake up hurting and stiff. I thought the pad wasn't working! Then I figured out that I was sleeping so soundly that I wasn't moving when sleeping.I am very pleased with the overall comfort of this pad. Most likely it is to big and heavy for backpacking, but would be great for car, motorcycle or packed in by horse. It has lost some air a couple of times but only part of it. Just opened the valve and in a couple of minutes it was good to go.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Luxury Map Sleeping Pad:
I purchased this for my husband, who could no longer comfortably camp because of back pain - sleeping on the ground was no longer an option for him. This pad is AMAZING! He woke up happier and more refreshed than me! Absolutely no back or hip pain! The pad inflates and deflates super-easy, and it's compact and easy to carry, so this is now a must-have in our camping supplies.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Luxury Map Sleeping Pad:
I use this sleeping pad with a Big Agnes Sleeping Bag that requires a sleeping pad for insulation. I am a pretty avid weeekend camper, but do like to be comfortable when camping.
The first time I used this sleeping pad was great. Followed the directions to a T when packing it up, and the next time I used it, it no longer felt as good, felt like a cheap thin air mattress with no foam in it...
Debating buying the DreamTime cover from ThermaRest just so I can stand sleeping on this thing again!

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Luxury Map Sleeping Pad:
I am a Boy Scout mom and I do camp with the boys occasionally. I was waking up with a sore back, and I'm also a side sleeper so my hip bones were not padded with the cheap pad I had. This pad is big and bulky, but a good nights sleep is worth the extra weight. It is not hard to roll up and fits in it's stuff sack no problem. Another reason I bought this pad over similar, less expensive pads is because it is Made in The USA!

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Luxury Map Sleeping Pad:
I absolutely love this sleeping pad. I used to have a queen sized bed, but I sold it because it was taking up to much space in my room. I elected to get a sleeping pad and I am so happy that I have this one. So comfortable and simple. Definitely worth the money too.
