The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Zoic Ether Bike Shorts - Men's:
I purchased two pair of these Zoics - and took both back. Why? These shorts look great (they make nice walking shorts - they don't look like biking shorts when off tbe bike) and do have lots of pockets. A few downsides ~ Little downside: I have a 34" waist and purchased the "L" - they are a tad bit snug. Bigger downside: The weave of the material (coarser weave than most "baggies") is a little irritating/abrasive on the tops of my thighs on a long ride (30+ miles). I don't notice this so much on a 15 mile ride, but at the end of a 50 mile ride I was glad to get out of them (my wife and I enjoy bike touring). Even bigger downside: The shorts' chamois caused some significant red chaffing for the first couple 30+ mile rides (have never experienced this with other biking short chamois'). But the reason for the returns? As a previous review mentioned the velcro WILL grab the shorts material and cause premature and visible wear. After the first wash (not dryer), the shorts had a noticeable "run" on the leg. The hooked side of the velcro (HSofV) fastener at the waist is the culprit. The HSofV grabs the shorts material firm enough that it pulls the tread of the fabric causing the run and a slight puckering of the material. It also makes the shorts fabric, at spots, look like it has been lightly sanded with 80 grit sand paper (slight frayed appearance where the velcro grabs and releases the fabric).I exchanged my first pair for an identical pair [...]. Customer service suggested I fasten the velcro before tossing them in the wash. I followed the suggestion, but with the same results - runs and puckers. (I hate puckers!) Being the great prognosticator that I am I could foresee endurance problems ahead for these shorts, so I am "bagging" these baggies and getting something else.

Comments about Zoic Ether Bike Shorts - Men's:
I tried on several shorts at my local REI and went with the Zoic. They are well constructed and have several appropriately placed pockets (very useful for music player, keys, I.D., phone, etc). Not cons, but worth noting, they are bike shorts and thus have a snug fit. I am a 34" waist and bought a large, and could possibly have gone with an XL. The pockets fit the above mentioned items just right. That being said, the pockets are not roomy and it can be tricky to access items in your pockets while riding.
I use these for a daily 18 mile round trip commute. I'm still getting used to "real" bike shorts, vs the gym shorts I've ridden with for years, and overall I'm pleased with this purchase.

Comments about Zoic Ether Bike Shorts - Men's:
I've been searching for the holy grail of bike shorts for a while now. I want something that's loose fitting (mountain bike) yet good for commuter rides, too. I tried these and while they breath well and feel comfortable for my commuter rides, the pad seems oddly non-conforming and I believe this will end up chaffing. The shorts have small pockets which isn't bad but I'd like more room and I'm not a fan of the mesh pockets which catch key rings and transfer moisture to your cell phone, should you carry yours that way. (Bad move!)
These run small so if you usually wear a medium, try the large.
Overall, they're not bad. They might work for you but for my money, I'll continue the search. These will be returned.

Comments about Zoic Ether Bike Shorts - Men's:
Very nice shorts. They're the perfect length that I've found hard to find. As others have noted, they run just a bit small. The material pills a bit over time and picks up a rougher texture. It could also have a little bit of Lycra or Spandex in it for give. The extra Velcro straps on the sides are unnecessary. The waist/front pockets should be deeper. Bike diaper is average quality and can be removed. I wear the shorts around as my regular 'round town clothes all the time. Buy some, but get 'em on sale.
Service and delivery comments:
As always, ordering and delivery were perfect.

Comments about Zoic Ether Bike Shorts - Men's:
I bought these a month or so ago, and have been biking about 2-3 times a week now. These shorts work great, feel comfy, and take care of everything you would want them to. They do fit a bit snug, even when fully loosened using the side velcro adjustments. I'm a 32 waist and the Medium is snug around the waist only.
The only issue I've noticed is the front velcro. When wearing, it's not a problem; but every time I put it through the wash, it happens to stick and pull on all parts of the short fabric, causing accellerated wear on the material. Not sure if it's significant yet, but just an issue to think about over the long haul.

Comments about Zoic Ether Bike Shorts - Men's:
The Zoic Ether shorts are great for biking and when you take the liner pad out they are a great workout short. My only complaint about the shorts is the adjustable waist straps twist and don't allow you to fully tighten at the waist.

Interesting concept but poor design. Outer shell rides up inside and rubs outside of thighs. Not recommended for more than very casual rider. Runs a full size small.

Comments about Zoic Ether Bike Shorts - Men's:
These shorts are very nice. Very comfortable ONCE you get ONE size bigger. Just get one size bigger than your usual size. Im 5'9 160, athletic build. I tried the large. It was a snug fit, not super tight, but I like a little baggy (comfort) so I went one size bigger, which ended up being XL. Great, great fit. I have the black colored one, I might get the grey one too.

These shorts and chamois have a fantastic fit and are VERY comfortable. Pockets a plenty. The shorts, minus the chamois, have been great for other activities like playing tennis.

Comments about Zoic Ether Bike Shorts - Men's:
these shorts are great except for the tights that come with them. they are removable so I use my old ones still. they are not that bad but my old pair is still in good condition.
you do have to follow the washing instructions so that the velcro doesn't rip your other stuff. I hang dry them in my basement and by the next morning they are dry. by the way, that is what the tag tells you to do so all these other people that complain about the rips and snags, well they just don't know how to read.
I was torn between these and the less expensive ones (other brand)in the store and I am totally happy with these.
