Very light hat, quick drying, I use it for running and it works great. The brim is the perfect length to provide protection from the sun. Excellent wicking qualities...keeps your head cool. Overall a great product.

I work outside during the summer walking streets to collect utility information data. This hat has helped me stay out longer during very hot days, as not only does it shade my face, the mesh keeps my head cool. The hat is light as a feather, fits me very well, and for the first time that I can remember saying this about a hat, it looks good on me. I'm so glad I bought this hat- it's been worth every penny.

Rei has redesigned this cap and ruined it as far as I'm concerned. I loved the first two I bought several years ago. Just bought another one and although it appears very similar to the original, the current design is too shallow - meaning it does not come far enough down on my head. A slight breeze and it is gone. I'm returning it and I hope next year they go back to the old design which was great.

...if it were big enough. I must have a bigger head or something. The sides of the hat sit about 1" above my ear, no way it would stay on during a strong breeze. Maybe this is how running hats are supposed to fit. Also, the mesh is not sewn to the top solid fabric (look closely at the picture), so the top flaps in the wind. I didn't realize this. So the hat looks much different on a head than it looks in the picture. I looked silly in it, so I am returning it but it seems like a high quality product.

This hat has accompanied me on lots of runs and races through a hot and humid summer in New York. But now that it's fall/winter I really notice how shallow the crown is. Yesterday, there was a steady breeze—not terribly windy—but about 8 miles into my 14-mile run finally I gave up and just carried the cap in my hands. It's easy enough to tighten the cap, but it doesn't help keep it on my head.

Besides that it's a good cap—very breathable and lightweight. I love how broad the hi-vis part of the brim is, esp since it's gotten dark so early these days. Also it's gone in the washing machine every week (but air dried) and is holding up really well.

Still, this cap is only fitting—haha—for people with smaller heads.

I use this hat for running to keep my hair down, which is especially helpful on windy days. It's a great hat, has adequate breathability, and I use it for every run! The hat doesn't sit deep on your head so you may have to tighten the adjustment strap on windy days!

I run several times a week and sweat A LOT. I got this for Christmas and just took it out on its first run . . . did fine with blocking the sun, etc . . . but as a sweatband it did nothing for me. I had to take it off and wipe the sweat out of my eyes with my wristbands. I think maybe the sweatband just doesn't go low enough to capture the sweat from my forehead. I'll give it another try and then likely look for something else.

I think this would be fine for people that don't sweat much or are just looking for something to wear on day hikes, but not for runners that sweat a lot.
