The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

I have been buying these shirts - both long and short sleeve for years. It was perfect for my uses. I ordered two more delivered to my local REI and discovered that the shirt design has been changed this year - eliminating over half the pockets of the prior design. PLEASE go back to your original design.

a great shirt but i have to agree with the previous reviewer. why did rei reduce the pockets by 1/2 and replace the pocket zippers with singular pieces of velcro?!?!? that was a wrong move, rei!
however, i do like the fabric this year better. it's almost like a micro ripstop. the pit vents are great. i wish those had been added in previous years' shirts. the rei tag on the front right bottom is very quality but i could do without the logo embroidery on the left side. it adds to the cost and is not in line with normal rei styling.
all in all, i do like the shirt and will probably buy more later in the year. had the shirt had the original pockets and zippers, i'd have given it a 5 star rating.

i forgot to add in my last review that there is a noticeable size difference in this year's version. if you wore this shirt in past years in a medium, you'll need a large this year. my others are mediums and i always thought they were cut large. i tried on a medium this year and it was clearly a no-go. cut too small, even for a medium. a large was clearly in order.

I live in central Texas where we have had 50 strait days of 100+ temps this summer. This shirt saves my life. It is absolutely the best performing hot weather shirt I can find. The mesh interior shoulder lining keeps you cool and the fabric is so light you feel like you're not even wearing a shirt. The styling is simple, so I can wear it kayaking on Lake Travis, running errands around town, and even to work! REI please ignore these fools asking for more pockets and zippers, these things add weight and make the shirt look silly. Simple two breast pockets is perfect and the velcro keeps it light. Thank you REI for making a great product!

This Sahara shirt is actually my go-to short for almost all travel adventures. THe reasons for this are easily identifiable as it's so easy to clean, so very breathable, and so very light on your skin. I just got back from 2 weeks in Europe travel to varies cities, and took only a backpack with 2 pairs of pants, and 2 Sahara Tech shirts. Unbelievable how in the 95-100 degree heat I could still feel air moving around my skin, but even better went going back to the hotel at night I could wash it out in the sink and have it dry overnight. The other clear benefit is that it does not wrinkle too much, but doesn't hold the wrinkles for long. This means that after I wash it and wring it out, it still has some wrinkles, but as I wear it, they seem to work themselves out. Besides this nice light feeling, the shirt actually looks really nice with a pair of shorts or pants when going for a nicer look at night. Often times people cannot believe that its my daily travel shirt, and also a classy looking collared shirt for nighttime dinner use. Love it to the point that I actually have one in every single color. !

I bought 3 of these shirts just prior to a vacation at Zion National Park in Utah. Im stationed currently in Las Vegas and the heat is killer. 130+ on the flightline. When i bought this shirt, i got it on sale for about $25 and that was the main reason i bought. However, i wouldve paid more for it. When i was up at Zion Natl Park, i went on about 7 differant hikes. The shirt was VERY breathable! The front pockets were perfect for my map I had and the loop on the breast pocket was great for a mini LED light for when it got dark. Also used it for my compass as well. During the hike, I was carrying my day pack as well. I felt no discomfort from the shirt while wearing the pack. The only thing that i really have noticed about the shirt is that the velcrow holding down the flap on the back sometimes opens up. I think its because of washing it so many times.**FYI** Avoid drying it. Wash it and then just hang it up. No point in drying since it drys uber fast anyway.

I am 6'1, 180 lbs, and bought a size Large as I normally would with other REI shirts. In addition, some of the reviewers said "size up" when purchasing, so I thought if anything it would be a "tailored" fit (which I like).
I was shocked when I tried the shirt on because I found myself swimming in it. Looks really sloppy--not an athletic cut by any means as I was led to believe in the photo above. Bought one as a gift for a friend of mine with similar sizing, but now I have to return them both. Perhaps I will check out the medium size at the store and see if I can get an exchange.
