Comments about REI Ultra Light Pants - Women's Regular:
I am usually a size 14-16. usually pants are made too small so I ordered Extra large to be safe. I probably could have taken the large as these pants were true to size. Unfortunately they no longer carry this line so I just kept them to wear over my slacks to work during a rainy day as they were a good buy.

Finally I can be dry and warm when the walk/bicycle commute encounters yucky weather. Love that they are so windproof! And they fit easily over regular clothing - don't even have to take off the boots or shoes... They aren't a bit bulky, either.

Comments about REI Ultra Light Pants - Women's Regular:
I purchased these pants for my girlfriend for our first trip out snowshoeing. We moved to Denver from NC and aren't used to snow and certainly lacked snow gear... we weren't even sure if we would like snowshoeing haha. But, understanding the activity, I knew we'd need/want something to keep the snow off of us etc. Well snow pants are pretty pricey, but these, just being ultralight/waterproof + normal hiking layering kept us dry and warm enough no problem! I did, though, add grommets to each pant leg to keep them right up against our boots. That would have been a cool feature but other than that they did the job great! I also think they'll come in handy on other/future adventures :)

Comments about REI Ultra Light Pants - Women's Regular:
I love my REI rain pants! I borrowed a pair of rain pants for a two week walking tour of Scotland this fall, and went looking for a reasonably priced pair of my own when I returned. These are perfect for me as an urban/recreational hiker and for dog walks. I hang them up by the door and the slightly flaired bottoms make them easy to slip on over jeans or yoga pants if it is drizzly or windy out. I was always concerned about rain pants being bulky or noisy but these are not. I'm 5'4" 130 lb and a small fits me perfectly in the waist and length. They are so comfortable I sometimes forget I have them on when I get home. Even though they are called lightweight, they feel very durable and seem well made.

Comments about REI Ultra Light Pants - Women's Regular:
I really needed a pair of rain pants and decide to ask for a pair for my birthday. I tried on The North Face Venture pants but they were very unflattering. After talking to a wonderful REI salesperson, I tried these on and instantly loved them. The fit was perfect and flattering, which is hard to do in rain pants. I've worn them out in the chilly fall rain and they've keep me nice and dry.

Comments about REI Ultra Light Pants - Women's Regular:
I have been hunting for a lightweight rain pant that is long enough for me, has pockets, is not uncomfortably tight in the waist in a size small enough not to swallow me in the hips and thighs. I have a relatively slim, athletic figure, small hips and thighs. At my age (and after 2 kids), my waist is thicker (30") in proportion to my hips and thighs than it used to be. SO I need an S or even an XS to keep from looking like a clown from excess fabric at the hips and thighs. However, many women's rain pants have tight waists, very uncomfortably so for me. These pants in an XS have comfortable elastic and do not cut in at the waist, yet they stay up just fine. The legs are straight and a good length for me (5'4"). They have pockets - rare in lightweight rain pants. Finally, a rain pant that fits me!
I see that another reviewer reported that they didn't hold up in a heavy work situation, but given that they're lightweight pants, I'm not looking for heavy duty work pants. These are great for hiking and camping and are holding up fine for me so far. This pant has everything I was looking for at a good price too.

Comments about REI Ultra Light Pants - Women's Regular:
Worked well with wind, rain, and mud...up until it developed two tears along the seams...while I was in the field in the middle of working on a month long project....with no REI around to exchange them at.
I wouldn't exchange them for another REI pair anyhow, same thing happened to my coworkers also REI rain pants, which were brand new. Maybe the conditions we put them through were a bit too extreme and these pants just couldn't handle it....but I do have a different brand of rain jacket and that's still kicking.
