Comments about OtterBox iPhone 3G/3GS Impact Case:
For those of you who have an iphone, it's probably the greatest tool you ever owned. However, there are two glaring shortfalls - the screen can scratch easy and the back cover is fragile and can scar if you look at it. SO, most of us buy a case and screen cover. The problem with the screen cover (at least with me) is that the edges keep peeling up. So, you either have live with it or replace the cover when it gets too many bubbles. Most of the cases are slider covers which have two shortfalls - they don't cover the edges of the phone, thus exposing the screen cover to peeling, and the slider thingy loses its ability to stay together over time.
This bad boy solves both problems. The skin amply covers all the edges, thus protecting the screen cover from the things that cause it to peel. It's also a single unit design (silicone) that fits easily over the unit and is very thin (I carry my phone in my pocket and it doesn't stick out at all). Despite being covered with silicone, all the buttons on the phone work just fine.
I only have one complaint, and that is that there is a hole in the back of the unit that allows the apple logo to show through. Sorta like having a hole in a levee. If you are going to protect the unit, why only protect 95% of it? Unless Apple is just freaky about having its logo shown, this really needs to be sealed up.
I have spent a ton of $ on screen covers and cases, and that stopped the day I bought this.
