This is a huge upgrade from the tikka i had 20 years ago. The quality of the LED is much better and the controls work better. Not that there was anything wrong with the old tikkas, with todays version they have just simply improved in my opinion. I cant speak on it yet but it seemed on my old tikka the batteries lasted forever. I hope this is the same. For the price i think it has great value.
I bought this because it had good reviews about light quality/intensity and reliability. Maybe it does have those good features, but I had difficulties getting it to tilt smoothly and easily and it was hard to put the battery in. Cycling through the 1 button system for different light features was not that clear. I think there are people who may not find it complicated but I want simplicity out in the woods so I returned it and bought another brand.
