Shipping Information.Compact, lightweight and simple to use, the Petzl Tikka 2 headlamp is ideal for everyday adventures, including hiking, snowshoeing, reading and around-the-house activities.
- Tipping the scales at less than 3 oz., the Petzl Tikka 2 won't weigh you down during a light and fast hiking trip
- 4 LEDs provide even lighting throughout your field of vision with no blank spots in the beam; LEDs throw the beam up to 29m
- Push-button switch lets you easily change between 3 lighting modes (high, low and flashing) so you can choose the appropriate light level for the task at hand
- Low level provides up to 120 hrs. of use and high up to 90 hrs.
- Headlamp tilts to point light where you need it
- Provides IPX4 water resistance for reliability in inclement weather
- Adjustable elastic headband holds the light securely in place; colorful headband and plastic casing add a little style
- Compatible with the Petzl Adapt Tikka 2 system (not included), which allows you to quickly and easily attach the light in a variety of places
- Battery compartment is hinged to allow simpler access than the previous version of the Tikka; compartment closes easily and securely
- Runs on 3 AAA alkaline batteries, included; Tikka 2 is compatible with lithium batteries, which are lighter than alkaline batteries and perform better at lower temperatures

This gift was my first headlamp. I was looking for a simple, cheap and good quality headlamp. This one fit the bill perfectly. It has three settings: bright, less bright, and strobe. It was plenty bright, and I had good visibility in the woods for about 15 yards I believe. If you are looking for something that isn't too fancy or expensive, go with this headlamp. Great buy.

First off, its a good light for its intended purpose...I however wanted a light to trail run with.
Not a good light for that task.
I purchased it due to its light weight and stability on my head.
However, I learned that under the canopy of trees the Tikka 2 was something I settled in to accept as lackluster.
When racing Ultras, I saw first hand that there are other lights on the market that are of lighter weight and more bright.
I know from experience that when running over stumps, debris, rocks etc, that I would hold back due to the poor lighting.
If your trainiing run takes place in the late evening and you return home in the dark, this is not the light for you.
If you want it for walks, hiking, car camping, its perfect. The 40 lumens is probably sufficient.

For the price you will not be disappointed with or get a better light than this one. On Hi, it is extremely bright. battery life has been great. My buddy went and purchased one after seeing mine in action on a trip, and i purchased another one for my wife.

This headlamp is nice because it is very bright, but I only had it for one year before I started having problems with it. Even in the lightest of rain, water would get into it, and the battery case is shot now. I cleaned it out regularly and took very good care of it, but it is no longer a reliable lamp for me-only turns on about 10% of the time without having to mess around with it to get it to work.
