Comments about SmartWool Popcorn Cable Socks - Women's:
I normally love SmartWool socks and bought two pairs of these about a year ago because they are so cute, but am sorely disappointed. I just threw both pairs away because of huge holes that formed on the backs and bottoms of the heals of all four socks. Granted, the washing instructions say to line dry them (which I didn't) so maybe if you don't put them in the dryer they last longer. But who wants to line dry socks? I'll be sticking with the SmartWool hiking socks from now on.

I have these socks and they are quality plus. If you care for them properly (no driers), they will last. I am getting rid of the cotton socks and replenishing with Smartwool socks. Smartwool is the ONLY wool I can wear. This brand is high quality and keeps my feet warm and dry which is a feat in itself!!!!! Definitely a must to have...buy plenty!!!!!

I loved these socks for the first few months I had them. Washed them in tepid water and line dried. The heels became threadbare within 6 months. I wouldn't buy them again.

Comments about SmartWool Popcorn Cable Socks - Women's:
I bought two pairs of these a year ago and love the look and the feel and fit of them, but the heel and toe knit is thinner than the body of the sock and in both pairs the heels are almost worn through. I only wore the socks last Jan through March and then starting in December again, probably wore each pair about 25 times max. For them to wear so quickly is not acceptable in an expensive sock. I have other Smartwool socks that show no wear in the heels after equal time on my feet, though I've had problems with the seam between the toe and body of Smartwool socks not being strong. I'm not at all hard on socks. I love the warmth of wool but even on sale these are not worth it.

Am quickly replacing my socks with Smartwool socks. The more the better!! Have introduced them to friends & they love them too. These socks keep my sweaty feet warm & dry. Smartwool socks are not itchy & very comfortable. I like the ones that have 70% or more merino wool & now have 12 pairs. Keeping your feet warm and dry makes for a happy person!!!!
