The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Thule Prologue Fork Mount:
I bought this as a ways to transport my 30 pound mountain bike. I was too tempted by the price and regretted it as soon as I installed it. Simply put, the rack is poorly made. The tray and head are cheap, flimsy plastic and the bike sways a lot when driving even on smooth roads. The rack is also secured to the car in by a small piece of metal. I felt like my bike and the rack could go flying off at anytime. I was really disappointed with this rack, I expect more from Thule. I ended up returning it for a Sidearm, a much better rack.

Comments about Thule Prologue Fork Mount:
Does not hold my x-large mountain bike in a stable position. No matter how much tightening, it is not possible to reduce the sway/wobble to a reassuring level. Returning today...

Comments about Thule Prologue Fork Mount:
Ive had this carrier system for awhile now and it is by far, the best bike carrier I have. It works so well on my roof rack that I finally have space for the bike, kyak and camping gear.

Comments about Thule Prologue Fork Mount:
Even with aerobars and abandoning the u-lock necessity, this rack still does not hold my bike well enough. There's so much swaying that I'm incredibly worried that there's going to be some major damage if I catch a nast crosswind...save your money...

Comments about Thule Prologue Fork Mount:
Bought this with a whole roof rack system with feet and cross bars. I can see how the system can be flimsy if it is mounted to stock roof racks or some other round cross bar. I got Aero Cross bars and that required an adapter kit that didn't use the cheap U-Bolts that come with it. It is secure and have had no problems with it so far.
Overall a pretty good buy but I would recommend getting a Thule roof rack along with it. I know it can get a little expensive and Thule could come up with a better design but of course it works best with their own design roof rack.

Comments about Thule Prologue Fork Mount:
I will second the comments about the instability caused by the cheap U-bolt tightening system. It is a very poorly designed system and if you look at the nicer Thule models they don't employ the same U-bolts.
Even when the U-bolts are freshly tightened, my bikes will sway a fair amount. After driving over any sort of bumps the bolts will tend to loosen more and the bike sway gets much worse. Of course, the more the bikes sway, the more stress placed on the bolts and consequently it tends to loosen even more. I have replaced the locknuts in an attempt to improve it to no avail. I had been re-tightening the U-bolts before any significant driving, but am currently replacing it with a better rack.
This is a very poorly designed product and I would not recommend it.

Comments about Thule Prologue Fork Mount:
The Thule Prologue rack looks good . Unfortunately it did not hold the bike securely, regardless of the tightness adjustment . Were it not for having the bike cabled to the rack , I would have had a $2k bike bouncing down the interstate. I bought the rack back to the REI shop. They attemprted to adjust it. Could not get it to hold the front fork so they replaced it. The replacement worked for about a month before the front fork started popping out . REI replaced it with a Yakima version - does not look as good but holds the bike fork in place. So much for Swedish engineering . Thanks to REI. Forget this Thule product.

Comments about Thule Prologue Fork Mount:
I got this rack to carry my mountain bike on my roof instead of in my trunk. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. It's stable on my car and holds my bike securely. Out of the package, it seemed a little flimsy, but once mounted it was fine. What I don't like about it is that it doesn't come with keys to lock it. All of these things should come with some sort of way to secure your bike from thieves, so if that's an issue, expect to pay for the key and lock set.

Comments about Thule Prologue Fork Mount:
This bike rack connects to the front bar using a single (and fairly small) u bolt. Yes, your 5k bike is held on by a cheap 22 cent piece of metal, which also is a single point of failure. Better double check what your insurance covers.
When mounted to the car, it did not fit flush with the bar it was mounted on, causing it tip back and forth. Visibly, it is slight, however, it made a distinct and audible clunk, even at 45 mph.
Finally, the construction was flimsy. All together, completely unacceptable for the price. Try the Rocky Mounts PitchFork; same price at REI, 100% better engineered, 100% more stable, and quite a bit better looking.
