      I have the version of this from a couple years ago (had an iPod pocket on the front), I have a couple. I wear it ALL THE TIME (seriously, most every day). I love it. It's getting worn out. I went to get another one, and it's slightly redesigned. New fluffy stuff around collar (a little unnecessary and dorky looking, but whatever), but the huge new downside is the stupid thumb holes. It takes what was a perfectly good shirt and makes it:

      A) WAY too long in the sleeves, unless you go down a size but then it gets too tight in chest,
      B) hard to get on because fingers get snagged in the holes,
      C) have an air leak in the otherwise cozy sleeves - just enough to be noticeable and annoying.

      If your hands are cold, get a pair of gloves fer cryin' out loud. The thumbholes take a PERFECT garment and make it irritating. This manly-man also thinks they make it seem like something a girl would wear. Perhaps I'm the only guy who thinks so.

      All that said, I'm still keeping it because it's still the perfect weight and warmth for a second layer in cool but not cold weather.

      Perhaps version 3.0 will go back to version 1.0 and drop the thumb holes. Or just sell version 1.0 again as an alternative item. Please?

        Very warm top that I purchased for running in below 50 degree weather. Love the soft fabric, thumb holes and longer length. Almost too warm with a wicking t shirt under it. Got the forest green which is dark green-not light green as one of the pictures show it.

          I own three of these (different colors of course) and they are great. I don't use a jacket any more because these "sweatshirts" work for all occasions. I have taken them hiking in the field, wear it casually around town, or lounge in it at night at home. It is the most versatile piece of clothing I own and I hope REI will keep making them each year. Three just isn't enough.

          One caveat, if you order online bump up your size by one. I wear Medium t-shirts, but Large in this.

            I've owned an REI power Stretch top for 8 years. I recently thought about it and noted that it's been worn on every cool weather hiking and skiing trip I've done since then. Other gear goes up and comes down in the pack, this one gets used. It's my second layer over a t-shirt every time. It's warm, highly breathable and so flexible that you barely know you're wearing it. And it's been amazingly durable by still looking new after all that time. Highly recommended.

              I wanted a running shirt for my cold weather runs. This is more than perfect. It's warm, plush (polartech next to skin is sooo soft), and stylish. It's almost a shame to sweat in. It's just a tad bit long (I"m 5'6 and wear a medium) but the arm length is pretty true (the thumb holes come in handy). It's fits snug, but not skin tight. W/ a baselayer underneath it is very warm for cold weather runs. It does protect against slight winds. Only gripe is that it's too warm when inside (even w/o a layer underneath) but you can unzip to vent some heat. Great product, bought it on sale, would probably have paid full price if I knew how great it was.
